Nice! Here I thought my 22" was massive, that things ginormous! Funny how I bought mine (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236042) for $340. Extra features and awesome aesthetics are pricey! >< Looking back now, I think I would of preferred more screen space.

Why do these companies insist on putting tinny sounding speakers in these monitors?

I think it depends on the brand and how much you pay. People usually look for large screen size and the lowest possible price, which usually results in lack of quality in other areas, like the speakers.
For example, I paid about 50% more than what most 22" monitors cost and my speakers sound pretty amazing. I also went with a pretty well known trusted brand, asus.
But I think they include the low quality speakers because they don't cost a lot to make and it might persuade people to opt for their monitor WITH speakers than some other brand without speakers. That, and I'd take low end speakers over no speakers any day. You don't have to use them, but when you have no choice, its nice to have them compared to not at all.
monitors with speakers = fail:P
why not go for a 30" and get the extra res? :) youŽl run the same res as on a 24"":D

That monitor is going to be massive. My 22" seems like over kill (since it's pretty close to my 20" TV lol)

I've had two Hanns-G 19 inch monitors for about 3 years now. They have yet to dissapoint. I've been eyeing that one for an upgrade myself. You won't regret spending the money on it. Bestbuy should have those on display but they're slightly newer and are just branded "hannspree". So go check it out in person! It's about the best bang for your buck around in monitors. And from a 19" CRT to a 28" LCD with 1920x1200? Any higher than that and your head might explode.

Probably something to do with it being 3 times the cost, lol :D
