I don't know... I think I might be starting to regret buying my 8GB iPod Touch, that looks pretty damn nice.

What do you guys think? iPod Touch Killer or almost but not quite?

I'd buy one, due to the fact that it records.

I'm not a fan.
I'm also not a fan of the touch.
I'm a fan of the 120gb Classic.

No Applications.
No Games.
No WiFi.

Alright, I didn't realize that the first go around. Thats what I get for not doing my research first. ><

Okay, so lets rephrase this...

Would it be an iPod Touch killer if the S9 had applications, games and wifi?

I guess as it is now its more of an iPod Nano killer, which really isn't saying much unfortunately.

Well bummer. I got excited there for a second.

I think anything can be an iPod killer cos I hate iPods lol, they are so bland and boring IMO.

Personally I would get one of those Creative X-FI MP3 players or a Microsoft Zune. Shame the Zunes aren't available in store in Australia otherwise I would get one. I currently use a Toshiba Gigabeat and find it awesome cos you don't need a library on your PC so no doubling up of songs, only downside is the software doesn't work on Vista.

Cowon makes some of the best media players on the market. And they are media players not just mp3 players, most models play numerous formats of audio and video files. The sound quality is amazing also, not diluted by trying to cram as much features into a device like the internet.

I've also got an Ipod Nano, but mine's an 8gb. I'm all about lossless audio, so I actually CAN listen to the whole 8gbs in a day. ;) It's too small for watching movies on, agreed. The screen is really nice quality though.. the iPod touch was much nicer for watching videos on, particularly when travelling, or using public transit.

Honestly though, my pda has a larger screen than the ipod touch (Axim x51v), has wifi, bluetooth, SD and CF card slots, with TCMP I can play any format of video on it with no conversion, and my cell phone does all the rest.

The iPod only gets points for cool factor and battery life. :)

I wish the Touch had the S9's battery life!

55 Hours of Audio.

11 Hours of Video.

INSANE.

Yeah, that's definitely awesome. My axim gets about 2 hours life watching video.

My iPod Touch can usually get through three average length movies before the battery goes critical. But then I just switch to my Motorola Q9m and I can usually pump out another three movies before I'm "watching-movies-in-the-middle-of-nowhere-less". :p

I can really see now why people buy iPhones though. I swear, I almost want to just tape my Touch and my Q9m together. lol

But the cheapest iPhone plan I could put together was twice what I'm paying now so I probably won't ever switch over. I wish I could just get the same plan I'm on now and put it on an iPhone. But apparently data plans are required with the iPhone and AT&T's unlimited texting plan is twice as much as Verizon's. Kind of annoying.

Plus the download speeds are pretty limited on the iphone compared to mine!
