bending.
ok..
if you are bending a plate of say steel or alumi. to bend you will need...
1 vice.
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj176/dont-fear/P1040393.jpg
1 metal hammer
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj176/dont-fear/P1040395.jpg
1 rubber hammer
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj176/dont-fear/P1040396.jpg
1 piece of wood
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj176/dont-fear/P1040399.jpg
2 pieces of rightangle steel.
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj176/dont-fear/P1040394.jpg
step 1
make sure your vice and bench is relativly clean in the vice area.
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj176/dont-fear/P1040392.jpg
step 2
open the vice enough to fit the 2 steel angles in the vice as a bending edge and the plate.
step 3
tighten the vice so you are able to move the plate to desired spot... (your line)
step 4
tighten vice so the plate doesnt move.
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj176/dont-fear/P1040407.jpg
step 5
put the piece of wood against the metal and start to hit it with the steel hammer. (if this is too hard hit it higher with the rubber mallet.)
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj176/dont-fear/P1040408.jpg
step 6
slowly start to bend the plate. when it is at an angle easier to use the wood.. use it..
this will give you a sharper line and not dent ur plate.
step 7
hit as low as possible until desired angle...
