Alright, at the moment I am broke (thanks to school) but my payments are finished as of today (thanks to Menards) and so it's time to start saving money here and there. I am planning on doing a completely new computer build, new case everything, I am making the jump from and AMD X2 computer to an Intel Core i7 computer. I plan on this computer being very very high performance, and I wanted to have a computer case to match that. I was thinking about maybe doing a Monster Energy themed case just because I like their logo and the computer inside the case is going to be a beast.

Soo here is the case I plan on cutting up. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?ISList=11-146-051-S01%2c11-146-051-S02%2c11-146-051-S03%2c11-146-051-S04%2c11-146-051-S05%2c11-146-051-S06%2c11-146-051-S07%2c11-146-051-S08%2c11-146-051-S09%2c11-146-051-S10%2c11-146-051-S11%2c11-146-051-S12%2c11-146-051-S14%2c11-146-051-S13&S7ImageFlag=1&Item=N82E16811146051&Depa=0&WaterMark=1&Description=NZXT%20WHISPER%20WHI%20-%20001BK%20Black%20Computer%20Case%20-%20Retail)

My idea is the Monster Logo on the side panel, and I'll use green plexi for the window. Throw in a bunch of green cathodes to make it glow. Then the bottom part of the case has 3 fans with blue LEDs I think, so those will get taken out and replaced with fans with green LED's.

The biggest thing though is I'm liquid cooling everything. I will have 2 RADs in the case side by side on the top. I was thinking a 3x120mm for the RADs. Here is the loop I was thinking of.

RES >> Pump >> RAD >> CPU >> Chipset >> RAM >> RAD >> Voltage Reg >> 3x GTX280

Anyway, I'm just throwing around an idea I had in my head for a while, let me know what you think.

check out my monster build  I'm going for a similar approach :D

Yeah I saw your Monster Case, it's looking really good. Probably going to look similar to yours I think.

i'm not sure how much heat those GTX280's put out and whether or not you plan to overclock but you will want a quad rad for them.

for such a setup 2 loops will be best.

and there is no point and only con's when water cooling your ram. unless you are pushing it to the limits and even then a well placed fan will work fine.

the mosfets/volt reg's don't need water cooling either but would benefit more from water cooling then ram.

i would do 2 loops as follows

res>pump>triple120mm rad>cpu>northbridge

res>pump>quad120mm rad>3xgpu

and since you will be spending so much money, you might as well go completely custom and build your own OR get a nice mountain mods case.

Nah, I like the look of the NZXT case. Nice and simple looking case.
I dunno if doing 2 loops would be worth it if I don't cool the entire thing. And if I do 1 quad rad I'll be doing 2 quads because I like everything to look nice and symmetrical.

then i would just get 2x triple and a Swiftech MCP355 with a XSPC res top for your pump.

i would only water cool the cpu, 3x gpu and north bridge. the n/b on the i7's doesn't really even need it either but its not a big deal.

i would go for core only blocks for the gpu's as well.

Yeah. There is a chance that if the GTX280's don't drop in price enough, I'll just get 1 or 2 of the latest nVidia cards and upgrade from there. I really don't want to spend $1000 on graphics processing when it's going to be 3 generations old. So I'm hoping the 280's will come down to the 260's price by the time I do this build.

*edit*
I just noticed that the GTX260 216 is just over $200 and performs just a little bit slower than the GTX280, and the 280 is over $300 (EVGA, only going to buy from them after my 9800GT purchase) so I think I'll go with a TRISLI GTX260 set up. That should keep me satisfied for a few years I'd imagine. I'm hoping that this build will last me at least 2 - 3 years.
