Alright, lets do this.

For the sake of simplicity, I am going to assume this is in a videogame/fantasy world, that is assuming I can carry unlimited ammo and gear.

First off, a Mosin-Nagant M44. This is for picking off far-away zombies in sparsely populated areas.

A Colt 1911 as a sidearm for "oh ****" situations

probably an AKS-74u for close-ish range.

Pancor Jackhammer for really close-up heavywork.

The car I'd take would probably be a Jeep, lifted, so I can drive over debris. Obvious post-apoctalyptic "I welded it on to the body in about a half hour" work abound. Either that or an old Mercedes 320 Diesel. Same ghetto armor concept.

To the car, I would have mounted a Dillon Minigun. Preferably, I'd have another person operating the minigun so driving through heavily populated areas won't be as much of an issue.

Depending on the type of zombie we're talking about (fast/slow, smart/dumb) and how the zombie condition is transferred (direct contact/bite OR airborne virus?) will vary what equipment I'd use. I'm assuming slow, dumb zombies and direct contact transfer, though.

I'm leaning towards Omega's idea but I would take a Barret M95 for my rifle (heavy bastard but .50cal is just so awesome lol), a Colt.45 for a side arm or a MP5 light machine gun and perhaps a reliable M16 or M4 SWAT loadout with FMJ solid slug lead bullets as my primary weapon, however one of those guns from Gears of War with the chainsaw on the front might come in handy ;). Oh and for the car a kitted out Range Rover or a Hummer H1 or H2.

Main - AK-47

Secondary - Sapz shotgun and probably an MP5 in the car

Sidearm - Desert Eagle, M9 in the car

Car - Hummer H1, most likely with an MMG on top. It'd also be filled nades, knives and other various death-inflicting equipment.

Assuming the slow, dumb zombies and direct transfer, as Omega said, and bearing in mind that zombies feel no pain and physical dismemberment is preferable to surgical precision, I'd second the use of the .50 cal, though I would prefer the EDM Arms Windrunner semi-auto version, for long range. Closer work, I like the Rock River arms AR-15 with 100-round drum and Aimpoint M2 sight, as well as the AA-12 assault shotgun with 20-round drum magazines filled with #4 magnum ammo and the occasional FRAG-12 round for concentrations of the undead.

We all have the "Oh ***" moments, as mentioned, so I would not leave home without the Sebu Super Shorty 12-gauge pump sidearm. Since it only has a 3-round capacity, a Smith & Wesson model SW1911PD .45 ACP would be standard, with underbarrel tactical flashlight (since those damn zombies seem to love the dark), loaded with Black Talon ammunition.

Vehicle of choice? The M112 Infantry Carrier Vehicle. Strong, fast, well-armed, and nigh-impervious to the undead.

That should do me.

Me personally? I'd carry some condoms. Remember, always use protection! Especially when it comes to Zombies.

As for a car? I'd pick a Honda Civic Hybrid (http://civichybrid.honda.com.au/)!, even though it's the end of the world as we know it.... got to think of the environment!

If I raid what is in the city
Car: Land Rover Defender or Toyota Land Crusier
Rifle: A rifle that takes a .308 round
Shotgun: Something 12 Guage with a magzine
Side Arm: 357 Magnum
Flare gun for distractions

If I raid an army base
Car: Then a Hummvee with a 50cal on the roof
Machine Gun: GPMG
Full nbc suit and body armor if I have to get up close

The Hilux is nice, especially if you have a TRD. Personally I would take the Land Cruiser over the Hilux, especially if it's the V8 twin turbo ;) lol. Bigger, faster and when matched with a big 5-poster bull-bar near unstoppable.

Hmm...

I saw this new SMG that redirects recoil down as opposed to your shoulder, so I'd have one of those. I think it was called the Kriss. I'd also have a G36 for picking 'em off around mid-range. I would have a PSG-1 sniper for sake of quietness. That reminds me, everything I have will have silencers on it so I don't alert them to my whereabouts if they're smart enough to know what their hearing is.

As for transportation I'm not sure what I would use... probably some sort of armored personnel carrier that has a miniature fusion reactor in it so that I never have to worry about gas, lol. That or a battlemech, preferably the one that I got my online name from (the Ryoken).

EDIT: I forgot to mention a small pump shotgun with that ammunition that shoots fireballs along with some flechette rounds (zombies aren't on the Geneva convention, lol). Can't forget the small grenade launcher either.

This is my exact problem with this thread.. has anyone considered what will happen when you run out of gas and ammo?

Give me a couple of horses, some thick leather armor (light enough for movement, can be repaired with minimal tools, and is too thick for the buggers to bite through) and some sharp swords/axes/blades. In close range, you are more deadly to multiple targets simultaneously, and you dont have to reload a blade.

What if there isn't enough food and water for the horses let alone yourself? What if all the zombies crowd around you restricting your movement? What if the zombie has metal teeth? What if you swallow a whole bottle of pain pills?

If anything, Left 4 Dead has taught me that in a zombie apololyse that there will be guns left laying around the place, med packs in every building, pain pills will have no adverse side affects and ammo is everywhere.

Well I can see you guys don't know your weapons too well...:lick:

Actually the game me and my team is designing now is something close to the situation of the zombies in the city. Basically for the sake of fun gameplay we have gone over all of these weapons and vehicles to keep gameplay fun.

The gatling shotgun would pose a good weapon, but firing to many rounds to fast is costly. The weapon is heavy and a burden to everything you do.

The barrette or any sniper would not be a good choice, at anytime you do not have both eyes open and can not use peripheral vision you can be considered dead.

With a clip of only 6 rounds the 12Gauge pump action would only suite for last resort options.

And since I don't have time to explain the rest of the guns, a gun that shoots to many rounds to fast is very bad. It might put more lead down range but you would need to reload more, and people have more of thought to shoot at something with the more firepower.

We have boiled down to a few solutions on the Gamerz Revolution board, I can only release one of them. The AA12, I would definitely bring that on a zombie infested city. I would obviously use the 60 round drum

(I over analyze EVERYTHING, nothing in this was meant to shoot other people down.)

Well, I'm not sure about others but I can aim using a scope with both eyes open. Also: traveling alone in a zombie-infested area would be not be very smart so staying in a group (if possible) would be ideal.

The boy 4rm oz

I can aim through a scope with both eyes open but who needs a scope lol, use a laser pointer. When there is a horde of zombies running at you you hardly need to aim well.

xRyokenx
03-24-2009, 12:51 AM
He means using a sniper scope. I highly doubt you could hit a target from 1000ft+ away without a scope lol.

The boy 4rm oz
03-24-2009, 12:56 AM
I know he was referring to a sniper scope, I find it quite easy to aim through a scope with both eyes open, it helps me judge the distance. I was just saying when you got 1000's of zombies running at ya then you won't be using your scope, any sane person would be running like hell lol.

xRyokenx
03-24-2009, 01:34 AM
Ahh, lol. Yeah, and if a sane person can't run there are other alternatives... such as flying! lol

1000 feet? No problem. I'm actually most effective at longer ranges. 1000 yards, you're cutting it close. I've actually had someone call BS on this, until I showed them the range that Marines are trained on.

That is why I choose a rifle that uses 308 ammo as it is the most common. But yeah I guess a really long sword would be a good bet and maybe a bow and arrow for long range but you would have to headshot them :dead:
