Oh, Notebook. I thought I read Netbook. I could never spend over a grand on a laptop. Especially since you can build a far better desktop for cheaper. You probably only get an hour out of the battery

Haha, I thought I read netbook too. :p

Thats a pretty slick looking notebook though, definitely one of the nicer looking ones I've seen.

I couldn't find a review on it, but I looked at a lot of the similar Asus G Series notebook reviews and it seems the battery life averages from two to three hours, with the exception of one that only got one hour. Those were all pretty extreme notebooks too, very flashy and very garnered towards gamers, so I think you have a pretty good chance of getting somewhere in that 2 to 3 hour range.

Now, if you wanted to get both a netbook and a gaming machine, you might want to look into the Asus N10 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220386).

The only real difference is that puny processor, but thats also what gives the excellent battery life. The Atom has about as much power as a Pentium 4 2.0Ghz, which is usually plenty for gaming as most minimum requirements are usually somewhere around that range. The power consumption difference between the Atom and the Pentium 4 is something like 80W to 100W with the P4 all the way down to only like 4W with the Atom. As far as computing performance goes, the Atom has plenty of power to do your everyday tasks and even some gaming. Now include that 9300m GS, and I think its a pretty good trade off for that 4-7 hours on average battery life. Quite a good bit cheaper too. The only true downside is that its pretty ugly, but meh, not horribly so I suppose.

Updated: Battery life WITH the 9300m GS enabled averages about 4 hours, with it turned off it averages about 7 hours.

Isn't that one better or at least equal but at $400 cheaper?

I would Absolutely love to give a review on this beautiful laptop but there's just one thing wrong, a day short of having it for two weeks i slipped on some ice and landed on the carrying case in other words, i cracked the screen

the good news is that Asus WILL replace it so i just have to contact them.

Damn! That sucks! You might want to think about investing into a hard shell carrying case or something of that nature?
