-11.6" Screen (1366x768 resolution? Possibly slight subliminal marketing? Core i7 anyone?)
-Intel Atom Z530 Processor (The Z530 only draws 2W compared to the Atom 230's 4W. Nice!)
-Advanced Graphics Processor (Model/type unknown at this time, but it will be capable of H.264 decoding.)
-Longer Battery Life (up to 8 hours instead of the current 6.5 hours)

No word yet on availability or pricing, but I'm liking what I'm seeing as well as what I'm reading so far! Lets hope that it hits under that $400 price range.

I seriously doubt it would. Would probably be $500-$1000 range

Shhhh! Don't jinx it! If they know thats what you're expecting, then thats what they'll go with! lol

I wouldn't think it would go past the $700 mark though, at least not by very much because of the Asus N10, as it has an nVidia 9300M GS graphics processor with a four hour battery life and an optional "up to seven" hours battery life with the GPU turned off.

Then again, if they can match the 9300M GS and still get at least six hours of battery life out of the listed eight hours.... then they can boast about THAT, the larger screen, the new processor and whatever else. It looks pretty thin too. Crap, it looks like it just might be around or more than the $700 mark. ><

it's gunna be pricey, that's for sure. Under 400 dollars would be insane.

Maybe the NVidia Ion? Either way, looks like a good little laptop with that 16:9 screen.

Someone should measure their audio ports and what-nots and take a guesstimation on how thick it might be. It looks pretty thin!

I would but I can't find a ruler. lol

It looks like it might be under the inch mark though, which would be awesome.

@Zephik: My NC10 has intel graphics... unless there's a way to turn on another GPU in here that I don't know about? If this does have one I'll be thrilled.

EDIT: Nevermind, I read N10 and thought NC10, oops. Sorry about that, lol.

It's gonna have GMA500 graphics

http://www.slashgear.com/116-inch-acer-aspire-one-atom-z530-8hrs-runtime-2338458/

So it will be sub $400

Holy crap.. if it comes with the 4500hd that'll be something!

*edit* I should clarify that while the 4500HD isnt exactly a powerhouse, it is capable of Bluray Decoding, as well as doing *some* gaming. It's certainly the best of the three listed cards, and if the price is sub $400, it's a bargain. :)

*ANOTHER EDIT* Theres some difference between the x4500HD and the 4500, but no listing for a 4500HD. I wonder which chipset it will actually offer..?

haha oops, sorry about that. Thats just a comparison chart. I was trying to make heads or tails of whether the GMA 500 is anything to be excited about or not.

That would be totally awesome though, wouldn't it? lol

I think my Samsung has that middle one.

I think my Samsung has that middle one.

Yea I believe thats what the current netbook standard is. The funny thing about the GMA 500 is it isn't an older model, its a newer one. It came after even the 4500 models, but it was designed specifically for netbooks.

The question is though, is it better or worse? There seems to be some pro's and con's, but I can't decide or figure out which out-weighs which??

Here is the chart again for those who are just tuning in.

I just wish that they had something a little more powerful... like, at least powerful enough to run the Source engine decently.

Well, there is always the Asus N10 with the 9300m GS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220385)!

Although, they cost about $300 more than your average netbook (MSI Wind for example (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2004940772+1723145094+1725945080+1722245076+1724 345056+1725845175&Configurator=&Subcategory=772&description=&Ntk=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=)). But they do have the Express Card Slot, 2GB RAM, HDMI, Altec Lansing Speakers, Rated 6.5 Hours of Battery Life (probably only around 4 hours), 1000Mbps Lan, Wireless N, Bluetooth, 1.3mp Webcam (meh), Vista Home Premium (meh) and a built-in Finger Print Reader (meh). The works basically, which you don't get with your average netbook.

They're basically laptops built into a netbook form factor, but with an Atom processor. It really depends on what you want. Do you want a netbook with plenty of horsepower? or do you want a notebook with tons of horsepower? This is where it really comes down to a size thing.

I would pay an extra hundred for the graphics card, thirty for the extra gig of ram and maybe fifty for the express card slot. Everything else I don't really care too much for, they're just nice things that I don't actually need (like the 1000Mbps lan). So your only paying like maybe a hundred dollars more than what they're worth. Once they drop down to the five hundred price range, I'll be all over them. :p

I kind of want to hold out until they get a better processor out though. An equivalent to a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 at least. They're only around a Pentium 4 2.0Ghz right now.

I think I got to use one of those... like a friend of mine's dad has one. I wish I could scrape the C off my netbook and have an N-10 that's actually an N10
