Hello Everyone,

This would be my first mod; I am receiving soon a Lian-Li PC-P80 and would
like to do some small mods. Only thing in mind is to install a custom window
(shaped a certain way), paint the case either a reflective PS3 mirror- style
color or something else attractive. I know the case comes with blue LED's, so I'd like to replace them and do a black / green / purple theme (with the Water cooling system being green / purple). Basically, something like an "Nvidia" theme. If I can put the Nvidia logo somewhere that'd be great.

Also, what tools will I be needing? All I can think of besides the average things laying around the house is a Dremel and sandpaper.

Any help or response is great, I am new to this site and was recommended by a friend.

Thanks!

Dave

for tools, start off with a good quality dremel and LOTS of accessories

other than that, browse the site, looks at other people's mods and how they did them, then make out some designs and have at it. :)

cutting a window in a case? i sliced mine out in 5 seconds with a plasma cutter. not exactly readily available, and you gotta go quick so you dont heat the metal up too much. Cleaned it up with a small air sander, and voila. had a custom cutout in my side panel in about 10 minutes flat.

A dremel is your best friend. you can do almost anything with it. sandpaper is also a good thing, unless your dremeling is perfect.

remember, if you cut a window in your case, it would probably be a good idea to think out how you want the inside to look. If you are going for a black/purple look, paint the inside black. primed, or unpainted surfaces look 'unfinished' IMO.

I agree with painting the insides, makes a world of difference. I did mine not too long ago
