Time for a new mod.

Project: Hemi-Cuda

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/1970cuda1.jpg

This is a present for my Brother-In-Law who is a HUGE mopar fan. He's been drooling ever since I built SuperbeePC (http://www.pcmodhouse.com/id54.html) for his parents.

In the same spirit as Superbee, my Brother in law does not know!!

The specs thus far are:

Foxconn A74MX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186151)
AMD Phenom 9150e
4GB DDR2-800

Video card and Hard drive are still unknown

Alrighty, the victim case is the Orange In-Win F430 (review coming soon!)

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030328.jpg

This vent is the dumest thing ever thought of. It's nearly totally useless, minus it's "cool look"

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030335.jpg

Fortunately, it comes right off!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030342.jpg

This is what you're left with

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030341.jpg

Here's where I'm cutting. This case needs a window with an intake fan, not a vent

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030340.jpg

The drive bays have a bit of mesh on them, but not the see through kind

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030348.jpg

I've already taped off the panel where the window will go

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030351.jpg

And painted the bays. I'm not sure what I'm going to have besides a DVD drive, so the painting is "just in case"

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030353.jpg

I put the bays back in, for now.

More done.

I added the first DVD drive. I say that because there may be more

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030390.jpg

I got my Motherboard

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030391.jpg

And added the Phenom x4 9150e

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030392.jpg

Here's the 500GB My Book I got at Office Depot for $39!!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030393.jpg

And in the flesh

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030394.jpg

There were no obvious screws so I had to pry it open

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030395.jpg

And there you go, a 500GB internal SATA drive

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030396.jpg

I cut out the window too. I will clean it up tomorrow night as today is Sci-Fi Friday

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030398.jpg

Next up is the window. When you look inside you'll see....

hahahhahahhahhaha

I just bought that exact same motherboard.

http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/9673/dsc03171sy3.jpg
If i remember right it was 46.99
cpu was 100$ or so
Didn't add the img code cause i figure you dont want a random picture included in your work log.

No prob. Newegg sent me an email because the mobo was nominated for some award

The window cut is done. I still need to buy more rubber trim for the plexi

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030402.jpg

Now to do something with the right panel

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030406.jpg

I taped off my work surface

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030407.jpg

It's gonna look a hell of a lot better than this, but it helps me visualize the goal

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030409.jpg

TheGreatSatan

I received my fender logo. Oh, and it's real not a reproduction

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030455.jpg

Here's where it's going

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030457.jpg

These are the marks for where I'm drilling the holes. I'd love to do it today, but my wife is off work and doesn't want me near it.

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030459.jpg

TheGreatSatan

I got the 4GB (2x 2GB) of RAM

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030419.jpg

And the Coolermaster V8 heatsink

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030460.jpg

It's pretty damn BIG!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030461.jpg

Here's about where it'll be in the case

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030462.jpg

I padded the bottom to simulate a motherboard underneath. And as you can see it's still about a half inch from where the panel window will be.

http://ww.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030464.jpg

TheGreatSatan
01-31-2009, 12:22 PM
I'm sure you have a pretty solid vision for this already, but some 40mm fans and "headers" coming from the heatsink would be cool.

I'm not sure what you mean.

This morning I drilled the holes and added the fender emblem.

Time to test the components. Pictures do a lot of talking!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030469.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030470.jpg

It's shiny.

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030476.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030477.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030478.jpg

It's HUGE!!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030479.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030484.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030485.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030486.jpg

Everything seems to be OK

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030489.jpg

Well, considering that the fan on the heatsink now is 120mm (I assume), you would need four 30mm (25 maybe) fans on the side of it, and then make some pipes like these pictured.

http://www.streetperformance.com/ART/PRODUCTS/101436/GP119.jpg

http://www.bbexhaust.com/truck/srt10/images/srt10-headers.jpg

Looking at the heatsink again now though, I'm not sure you'll be able to do that on the sink itself, although the metaphor for the CPU being the engine, and then having the heatsink look like an engine, would be pretty cool.

You might be able to do that same idea on the side of the case though. Although, like I said before, I think you probably already have a vision in mind.

d_stilgar

You could go with eight straight carburetor pipes like these, although it's a little more hot-rod than muscle car.

Or bent . . .

You could also go for the Shaker that was on the Hemi Cuda. Here's a pic of a 1/6 scale model that you can find online for ~$30. I'm not sure what the original shaker dimensions are, but if 1/6th of that is skinnier than the top of the case, then it will fit with little modification (I love the HemiCuda, and thought of doing a mod like this using this idea. I got the inspiration from your superbee) I should add that you would probably have to put 426 on the side instead of 440 since the Shaker was featured on the 426 only I believe.

http://www.northerntool.com/images/product/images/800855_lg.jpg

Edit: I stand corrected. This is from a rendering of the Chrysler turbine car if it had made it to production.

Oh boy! I've got one hell of an idea!!

Find an old 8 track player or AM radio for a car and remove the bezel. Then fit the bezel over the DVD bay and thus stealth it!

TheGreatSatan
02-04-2009, 08:35 PM
I went ahead and bought the same hood scoop as SuperBee had. Also, I'm considering a authentic gas cap for the right side under the striping

TheGreatSatan
02-04-2009, 11:42 PM
I cut out the side stripe by hand on a vinyl shelf liner. And no, not directly on the panel

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030503.jpg

And applied it to the panel.

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030505.jpg

Then sprayed on the flat black

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030506.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030507.jpg

I bought the "440" as a decal, because I'm horrible with painting on numbers/lettering

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030508.jpg

Then peeled off the backer

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030509.jpg

I purposely painted the stripe to go to the front

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030510.jpg

I'm sorry if it's not perfect. I did it all by hand with no rulers or guides

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030511.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030512.jpg

TheGreatSatan

I do like a Tach or an actual speedometer from a cuda on the bezel somewhere. Maybe hack it into the two 3.5 bay doors?

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/4842/dashtc7.jpg

I have looked. Authentic ones are pricey!

TheGreatSatan
02-08-2009, 06:52 PM
Thank you!

I cut out the window with my acrylic cutter

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030542.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030543.jpg

And that's done

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030546.jpg

TheGreatSatan
02-11-2009, 06:09 PM
Me too! Ha!

I got the videa card today, the Asus Radeon HD4830
As you can see next to my keyboard, it's about the longest box I've ever seen for a card of any kind

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030549.jpg

Here's the card. It's next to a CD case for size comparison

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030551.jpg

I do like that it comes shipped with caps on the outputs and the SLI

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030553.jpg

TheGreatSatan
02-11-2009, 09:41 PM
First off, Newegg said I'd get a copy of WoW with this card purchase, but I just got a trial CD with two 14-day certificates?? WTF?

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030562.jpg

OK, I tested the card in my Windows 7 test system.

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030561.jpg

So, I did test the card a bit for what I have available.

DXDiag

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/dxdiag.jpg

GPU-Z

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/GPU_Z.jpg

3DMark05 (without my activation code, I can't find it)

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/3DMark05_wo.jpg

And CPU-Z for the hell of it.

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/CPU_Z.jpg

TheGreatSatan

Alright some things to discuss.

I got the temp guage.

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030567.jpg

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030570.jpg

I thought about adding it to the 3.5" bay but it'll probably look stupid.

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030583.jpg

Your thoughts?

The radio came too.

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030584.jpg

Now, at best my drive bay is almost 6 inches

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030574.jpg

. . . . . .but the radio from dial to dial is 7 inches wide.

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030576.jpg

I'm not really sure I can make this work.

It was fun to take apart though

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030578.jpg
http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030580.jpg
http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030581.jpg

If I can't use it, I would love to encorporate this logo into the drive cage or something. It wouldn't be something you could normally see, but it would be a cool extra touch

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030577.jpg

Lastly, I WILL be doing hood pins on top. I kind of have to make it look good with washers and hood pins. I haven't nailed down the final design just yet

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030582.jpg

TheGreatSatan
02-15-2009, 01:49 AM
The hood scoop arrived from Hong Kong, but it's too shiny

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030586.jpg

So i took some sand paper to it

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030594.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030595.jpg

And flat black paint just as I used on the side stripe

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030597.jpg

After about 5 coats

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030599.jpg

It's on top for reference, not actually mounted. I'm going to take a hole saw to the top for an exhaust fan under the scoop

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030600.jpg

TheGreatSatan
02-16-2009, 01:52 AM
Next is the prep for the exhaust fan

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030606.jpg

After my dremel, this drill is the absolute best purchase I have ever made

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030607.jpg

It not only makes a perfect hole, but it does it in a few seconds

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030608.jpg

I just have to clean it up

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030609.jpg

Then add a grill. A fan will come later

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030611.jpg

And the scoop is on

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030615.jpg

The hood pins are next

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030616.jpg

TheGreatSatan
02-17-2009, 03:14 PM
The bezel is next. I want to mount the radio in the dual 3.5 inch bay

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030635.jpg

Looking like this

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030638.jpg

But first I have to trim it to fit the bay

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030633.jpg

And that's where I got my first Cuda related injury

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030634.jpg

And it's in!

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030640.jpg

And then with the face plate. I still have to touch up the sides

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030641.jpg

I still have to paint the bottom and inside with the flat black

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030631.jpg

And cut out the front where the head lights go

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030625.jpg

And get to the hood pins

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030644.jpg

TheGreatSatan
02-17-2009, 09:14 PM
I sprayed the inside till I ran out of paint. As you can see, I need to touch it up a bit more

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030650.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030651.jpg

Here is a pic with the panel on

TheGreatSatan
02-18-2009, 10:31 AM
Cool, next I cut out the headlights. Then I trace the holes on to the frame underneath

(I also decided to add a 2nd DVD drive)

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030657.jpg

After that I trace the holes on to the frame underneath

I also decided to add a 2nd DVD drive

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030658.jpg

^^ I still have to paint the bottom of the case ^^

TheGreatSatan
02-21-2009, 02:29 AM
I painted the bottom

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030666.jpg

And under the hood scoop

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030669.jpg

TheGreatSatan
02-23-2009, 01:59 PM
After protecting the surface I decided on a good place to mount the hood pins

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030677.jpg

30mm seems like a good spot

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030679.jpg

The pins had to be cut way down because they had to go into the case without interferring with the DVD drives

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030680.jpg

Once I drilled out the holes, I added a single screw to each. These screws were once part of the radio and now are another touch of the real thing

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030681.jpg

And filled it with Loctite

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030682.jpg

And I added the pin. I'll let it dry overnight

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030683.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030684.jpg

TheGreatSatan
02-23-2009, 11:12 PM
Oh, I got my 130mm (http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-silent-wheel-130mm-fan.html) (not 120mm) exhaust fan in today

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030685.jpg

I'm thinking of mounting a small digital photo frame (http://www.shop.com/+-a-sunpak+3.5%22-p168919226-q-k24-skipn-st.shtml) into the remaining 5.25 bays. I can connect it via internal USB and have it play a bunch of Cuda photos in a loop

TheGreatSatan
02-25-2009, 12:39 AM
Thanks. I found some cool motivational mopar pics and vids here (http://www.moparts.org/moparts/picture/burnout/burnout.html)

TheGreatSatan
02-26-2009, 01:23 AM
I ran the cable through

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030690.jpg

And there's that

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030691.jpg

I decided to not use the temp gauge on the front and mount a small photo frame that will scroll through 200 or so Mopar images

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030687.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030688.jpg

It'll go right there

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030689.jpg

I'll need to construct a frame for it.

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030694.jpg

I'll cut it soon

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030696.jpg

TheGreatSatan

oh cool... what was that out of and can you please post careful instructions how to wire it up :)

oh... digital photoframe dw lol looks cool tho

Are you ready? Do you have paper? Here we go....

I use a single internal USB cord!

I cut out the panel

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030699.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030700.jpg

And here's how it's going to sit

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030702.jpg

I started the paint process

Here's how the radio came to me

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030577.jpg

I cut out the mopar logo

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030704.jpg

And added a coat of flat black

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030706.jpg

And I remembered that my brother-in-law watches TV and movies on his aging laptop, so I removed one of the DVD drives and added a Blu-Ray ROM. The Radeon HD 4830 has a DVI to HDMI adapter so with the use of a quality monitor he can watch the latest and greatest in Hi-Def

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030705.jpg

I've thought about this for a while and decided to start signing my mods. They are, in fact an art form, so it makes sense to sign them.

This is on the inside left panel

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030710.jpg

I mixed up some Loctite and smeared it on the Mopar logo

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030712.jpg

Then pressed it on the back panel

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030713.jpg

TheGreatSatan

Yeah, Satan made it, then . . . . . . I don't remember.

Anyway,

I used Loctite again to secure the frame to the bezel I cut out. A little pressure is enough to ensure that it dries smoothly

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030760.jpg

I was about to add the PSU, but the screws I have are silver

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030761.jpg

So, I painted them to match

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030762.jpg

Once I get the system in, I'll be installing Vista Ultimate 64 bit

I haven't updated in a week or so, but I have been working on the front panel radio

http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp143/TheGreatSatan/P1030772.jpg

And the LCD bay

So after a few days of thinking I'm not sure what I want to do with the front bays. I still have the frame, but I kind of like adding a media reader/fan controller instead

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030780.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030781.jpg

Here's with the fan controller. It's the same one I used with Project Namesake

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030775.jpg

And here's with the LCD frame

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030788.jpg

I've put in most of the components so far

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030774.jpg

Here's a look with the panel on, minus the video card

The LCD display is garbage. When I turned on the computer it blinked and beeped again and again. Even the numbers were rubbish. Since I do like the idea of having a card reader and additional USB ports on the front panel I decided to gut it. I then merged the frame to the LCD cover

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030792.jpg

This is how it looks

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030793.jpg

While I wait for the silicon to dry I installed Vista Ultimate

Here it is mounted

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030795.jpg

And then while the computer is on playing the photos

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030798.jpg

So here's some pics with the lights off. All you can see is the Coolermaster V8lights

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030805.jpg

And more

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030809.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030810.jpg

I loaded about a hundred photos of Mopar/Dodge and set the screensaver to play them

Awesome! For the startup sound, you should use a big Hemi V8 start and rev! :D

TheGreatSatan

I already do! And when you shut it down the sound is peeling away!

BTW, since the motherboard is MATX and not full ATX, I don't have enough PCI slots to add a wireless card so I picked up a USB one (http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=566)

He's a fan of free internet, so I picked up a Wireless-N one to make it a little easier.

I need help. I'm almost done, but there's something bugging me. I can see some of the wiring through the window and want to cover it maybe?? The video card is just above so mesh might be good here, but it needs to look appropriate. I considered tacking the mesh to the inside of the window too, what do you think?

Maybe make it look like its coming down from the video card and over the wires or something?

Maybe you could use headers similar to these coming from both sides of the case??? Then you could sleeve the wires to look like spark plug wires and not necessarily have to hide them?

I almost think I should just leave the wiring too. Look how many wires there are on an actual motor

And in Remy's pic

Now there's an idea for your wiring woes...

You could do this using braided sink hose (a cheap alternative to the real thing), and paint the fittings to give it an anodized finish.

I decided to loom the wiring inside.

I think I'm done now

I bought the Logitech S520 to go with it.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41zuljGCBzL._SS400_.jpg

Coming soon.....

The grey parts will be painted orange to match the case and maybe more....

I'm leaving on Friday to give it to him!

TheGreatSatan

I got the Logitech S520 mostly because of the gray bar along the bottom that I will be painting orange

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030906.jpg

Krylon calls this color Pumpkin Orange

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030905.jpg

The bar along the bottom does not come off, so I taped it off and painted it in place

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030904.jpg

And the mouse too. Fortunately the mouse does come apart

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030902.jpg

So far, so good

When I bought the 440 logo it came as a pair so I put it on the keyboard too. Then I clear coated it all.

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030910.jpg

And I am done.

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030909.jpg
