Looks like someone thought it would be a good idea to let the magic smoke out of my 52" 1080p LG tv.:evil: Was watching a movie this afternoon and heard a sizzle (short circuit) and a pop (probably a cap blowing) then more sizzling, and finally a lot of magic blue/white/gray smoke came out the vents on top. The TV died instantly after the pop. I unplugged it and have it off the mount and waiting to call Best Buy in the morning to claim my extended warranty. What sucks is this tv is only a year old (11 months 4 days to be exact) There was no signs it was going bad, nothing but 2 seconds of sizzling, a loud pop, and a few seconds more of sizzling that stopped when I unplugged it. I am thinking that the power supply went out but could be wrong.
Think best buy will let me upgrade to a larger one and just pay the difference? I have their credit card and it has no balance so maybe I can upgrade to a 60"+ for 800-1000 more.
