We are working with the hosting company to see if we can resolve the issue for those having to connect to the site via a proxy.


Please provide us following information so that we can look into the issue further.

- Internet IP address of the problematic network that we can ping from outside network and the server. We need to check the logs on server for these IP address.
- error message that users receive (screen shot of the browser window when user is facing problem will be helpful)
- output of command "telnet www.thebestcasescenario.com 80 " form the computer on which user is facing problem.

Why do they want telnet and not tracert? Using telnet just gives me a blank screen.

But then again, I'm not having any issues unless I'm in a wifi hotspot on my laptop.

The do indeed want a telnet to port 80. By telneting to port 80, you can see the html output by the webserver, IF you send it the right string. Where this is helpful is that if you get a connection refused when connecting to port 80 you can narrow it down to that specific port or if its a wider spread problem.

Had a server not found for about 10 min today around 3:00pm EST. I think it may have been the wifi I was using though because I was having connection issues with adobe.com and ftp some files to my server. I was using the local colleges wifi sitting in their parking lot waiting on a friend to get out of her last final so we could go grab some food. I did not think to do a tracert or a telnet
