I had 5 hours of nothing to do tonight, so I started and completed mod #29. :D

I've been meaning to do a Mini-ITX Mod for a while now and chose a cash box as my case.

The Cash Box was $20 at Office Depot

I put the Mini ITX and PSU in to get an idea of how it'll fit

Then drew out the I/O plate outline

Then the PSU outline

It seems thick at first

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030926.jpg

But as you can see, it's one thin layer of aluminum and then an insulation layer followed by another thin layer of aluminum

So that was fun

Then I added a power button

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030934.jpg

And took a hole saw to it

Where I added an intake fan and a cool fan guard

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030937.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030939.jpg

I added a single screw

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030940.jpg

To attach the hard drive to the lid

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030941.jpg

There you go, it closes just fine

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030944.jpg

And it's Done :)

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030952.jpg

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030954.jpg

BIOS work

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1030955.jpg

All I have to do is load XP

Thanks for looking. :)

Thats one secure looking computer! Looks like it would make for a good lanparty box or something of that nature. Nobody is getting into that bad boy! ...unless they know how to pick a lock anyways. lol

Just some constructive criticism though. You should think about either grinding those edges smooth or get some of that computer window trim/molding to give it a more professional finish.

the chase is better than the catch;P good work though. a black colour would have made it better looking IMO.
