Does the Zune have apps? Thats the only thing that would be holding me back from getting one. Thats the main reason why I love my Touch so much, is because of all the apps it has and in every flavor of the rainbow.

Also, I do kind of like how slim and curved the Touch is. It fits in my pocket perfectly.

Alright, what the heck MS. You can get them in like 5 different colors, but only if you buy the 32GB model. Lame! The 16GB comes in Black only. I want that green! :(

I'm guessing that the old Zune accessories won't work with the new HD. Does anyone know for certain if this is the case?

OLED, HD Radio, High Definition Out via HDMI and nVidia Tegra. Its also slightly cheaper than the iPod Touch aside from the base models which in that case, for $220 you can get the 16GB Zune HD or for $200 you can get the 8GB Touch. The 32GB Zune HD is like $10 cheaper than the 32GB Touch or something like that.

Personally, I think the design is better too. Its pretty sexy looking and its not a complete smudge factory. Its a small plus, but one that I like. If the Touch came in matte I would have bought it no questions asked. Another bonus is that you no longer have to use iTunes. Not a big deal to some people I guess, but personally I can't stand iTunes.

That second paragraph is more about personal preferences than anything, but that first bit is nothing but the facts and the facts be lookin' pretty good. The Zune HD is a superior device to the Touch AND its cheaper. The only downside is the lacking of apps, which I'm sure will come eventually either through MS or through its own jailbreaking process.

I'm not certain, but I would guess that there won't be a problem. This was only a problem for Apple because they changed the pin layout in their 2nd gen Touch's for WHATEVER reason.

I have a Zune80, and would like to upgrade (despite the reduced hard drive size). I have the dock with remote and multimedia cables, the original box, AC to USB charger, and extra USB cable. Pretty much everything you see here (http://thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13246&highlight=zune) (minus the TV and ipod). Anyone want to make me an offer I can't refuse for the whole package?

Battery life is also better with the Zune HD than compared to the Touch. Do you really need any more reason to buy one? These things are awesome. I do kind of like the OS for the Touch better though...

You know what that means? It means that at the very least, once some group creates a jailbreak for it, it'll be that much easier to get custom apps onto your Zune HD which will then cause MS to (hopefully) open it wide open to all sorts of apps. :up:

Jailbroken is better than not jailbroken? Who wants to be locked down by what the manufacturer says and wants. That's why I jailbroke my Touch, its now ten times better than what it was pre-jailbroken.

In the case of the Zune, it might not get an app store like Apple's, which in that case it will definitely have to be jailbroken to get the most out of the device. We'll have to wait and see though, nobody really knows what its getting as far as apps go.

I have a feeling it'll get most of the useful apps though. eBook reader, calendar, weather, email, myspace/facebook, calculator, etc etc. ....at least, I'm REALLY hoping on that ebook reader part. I love Stanza on my Touch.

Microsoft will have the Zune Marketplace, I haven't seen the terms yet, but I'd think Microsoft are a little more relaxed in terms of apps for the Zune. Why? Because they don't directly have a product which is a phone. And they're not signed up with AT&T ;).

Also, Microsoft has released XNA studio with Zune HD support. So this could be getting interesting.

Well it has Marketplace already, it just lacks a serious apps category. They have a couple free games and stuff, but that's about it and they currently only support apps made and approved by MS dev's. If they don't open it up like Apple did, they're fools. But, that's one of the nice things about software hacking and in this case, jailbreaking. If they don't do it, we will! :twisted: They really do have a golden opportunity here though, like you said, its not a phone or related to one and its not signed up with anyone other than themselves. This could be their chance to actually surpass Apple in every way, apps included!

...although I'd rather keep my warranty so here's hoping that they aren't half retarded. I can't imagine any real reason why they wouldn't open it up to apps and dev's.

Went to Best Buy to pick up the 32GB version, but they don't have it yet... which blows...

I just ordered it from buy.com along with the dock. Every where else is out of stock or doesn't have it at all. Lame..

It'll be in my hands soon enough! :)

You can do that stuff to the 16GB. I don't want any of that stuff so it's no big deal. I wouold however like the 32GB in black, which they don't have. Perhaps someday I will be able to buy a 16GB shell and swap it out. :)

Its complete BS that only the 32GB model comes with color option. Then they go one step further and say that you can have it in these colors, but not in black. ??

It's like they want everyone to know that if you have a black model, then you couldn't afford the better model. or vice versa. I can't see what kind of reasoning they used for this otherwise. Hopefully they'll change it sooner than later. Especially since I want the 16GB model in green! :p

I also hope they get better artwork. Its cool that its free and all, but damn they suck.
