this is one of those times i truly think it was built to breakdown... the sony psp... a hack/mod god (but we wont talk about that here) all together a blast to own and play on, with soo many options.. music, video and games what could ever go wrong?.. i'll tell ya... the fuse... there is more than one inside the PSP which is usually the reason for them dying... if your screen stays dark.. but your power light is on... prolly a fuse... my case, no light... no nothing on a PSP slim, just me holding it with a broken heart.... why has thy psp forsaken me! i had only had it for like 3 days man! so i pulled it apart.. located the fuse... dropped a blob of solder in its place because i got no idea where to get the replacement.. it works fine and all... but how would any of you like to run around a field in a lightning storm with a tinfoil hat on? im not too big on that idea... and thats how i feel without the fuse.. but it works... so what can i do but play juiced 2 :)

I've had a PSP for a few years not that has never had a problem. So it's really hit or miss I think.

then me and my friends have bad luck lolz... ive seen like 6 of em with the same symptoms... and now mine.. 7..
from what ive read its actually very common... you must just be a very lucky one

because i bought it offa my friend... and its been modded.... warranty is void... and seeing as im only paying $40 for it... might aswell figure out my own fix heh... still utterly frustrating tho

Just bypassing the fuse seems kinda dangerous doesn't it? I mean if the fuse is blown doesn't that mean there is likely something wrong causing a short or making it over draw on power?

well my problem is tryin to find the a SMD fuse of the same rating... if i can find one in a phat PSP that will fit the bill.. i will swap it in.. but until there i havent had an issue...
my other issue is my solderin tip.... wedge tip that i grinded to a finer point... but i do need new ones.... just cant afford it right now...
