Well today at 12:13PM -5 GMT, AMD released the info on its newest processor. Instead of me blabbing find it here (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Corporate/VirtualPressRoom/0,,51_104_543%7E131109,00.html).
If you want to buy one go here! (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674)
I'm waiting for the Phenom III to come out myself but, good buy if you want maximum 4 core advantage at a very low price!
noooow... how high does it clock?
6.5 ghz is nice for the 940´e but i dont have the balls to throw 1.9 vcore and liquid helium after a cpu:D
and what are you talking about with the phenom III´s? there is no new platform under way as far as i know
holy bejjibuss that cheap for the power vs Intel,
looks like AMD is actually trying to take the crown back again, go AMD, we need this
many is choosing amd for that excact reason. they want a new quad, but dont want to pay the price for the i7... and i dont blame them:D few people can utilize an i7

I wonder what the temps are like in comparison with intel's. If these are opening prices I can just imagine what they're gunna be like a year from now. Better yet, what will be out a year from now.

Well the thing with reviews and such is that you cannot find something that everyone likes, thats just the 'real world.' (http://foreconomicallydisadvantaged.blogspot.com/2009/04/real-world.html)
Here are already 3 good reviews...

What can you believe with ownership of less than a week though?

Agreed! Those reviews are from AMD fanboys. I'm sure that it is a good processor. Every processor I've ever owned has done its job well except for this nasty little Cyrix chip I had. But I had no way of really knowing if its problems came from the processor chip, memory, or the motherboard.
The people reviewing this processor are basing their judgment on their past experiences with AMD. So it is not really an unbiased review.

I agree. I think it's a good chip too, but the reviews are pointless. The price is right though. I wish my AM2 board was AM2+
