I'm going crazy! I want a slush puppie and can't find a place anywhere that sells them. Not the stupid icee machines, the real slush puppy machines where it just dispenses the icy water and you add the flavor.

Is there a machine that you can buy that just makes the ice slush stuff? I can only find huge ones for like $900 - 2k. Is there like a small slush maker you can buy somewhere?

Please help me!

a high powered blender? I dunno. :P

Well I live in an apartment so a loud sound like that in the middle of the night wouldn't be too great. The machines just make a humming sound.

And different texture. If I knew a place I would just go, but can't find any here.

You're in Mass right. Isn't there a Cumberland Farms around they always had Slushie Machines when I went in. Always a good thing during late night.

Wait, aren't slush puppies and slushee's the same thing? I looked at them online and they look pretty much identical?

I just remembered the gas station by my house has an actual slush puppy machine, I could mail you one but it would just be a soggy flavored cardboard box by the time it got there :(

Not the same. Slush Puppies actually have a sweet sugary solution which partly freezes. Not comparable to something like that.

Where are you where you can't find them? There's a place across the street from me that has them.

he just wants ice shavings, he will flavor them. so for that they will work.

Well, what he wants is a partially frozen thing he can drink, not shaved ice. There just really is a big difference between the two >_>

Well if you have a Target handy they carry this for 19.99...

But I think I would spend ten bucks more for this...

It looks more like what a slushie/margarita machine does rather then just a highspeed blender/crusher.

The last on that Overide posted is what your looking for. I have one similar and while it does not make the perfect little ice balls that the slush puppy machines made its about as close as your going to get. I just make mine with plain water and add the shaved ice syrup to flavor it after the water has crystallized.

On a side note. All of the shell stations around here sell whats called "gator Ice" and it usually comes in cherry and raspberry and is an actual slushie and not that fluffly icey crap that they sell everywhere.

Canada: Land of the Slushie.

We have them at every local cafe/convenience store... In fact I've seen 2 places in this town with actual Slush Puppie machines. :D

Bopher said you live in Massachusetts. If that's true, and depending where in the state you are, you should go find some Dels, if it's the season for it yet. Seems like it to me, but I haven't had any yet this year.

NICE! They have that Hamilton Beach slush maker at the target right down the road. Sweet! I might have a look around for something similar though, as that is really just a blender/ice shaver. Was hoping for something not so loud (like something that forms the ice particles and not just crunches it) but if it comes down to it the neighbors might just have to deal with it.

Ya, I hate those carbonaty ice shaved drinks they have at 7-11. A real slush puppie really is like slush. Its like a bunch of ice balls/particles suspended in water. It comes out of the machine just like that. You then add whatever flavoring after its in the cup. Completely different then those mixy tub things they have at kmarts and 7-11.

What about an icecream maker? Just fill with water and fire it up. Keep a close watch on it to get the consistency you want, then just pour it out and add flavor. Definitely quieter than an ice shaver. :D

Hmm that might work. I've never had any experience with ice cream makers so I didn't know if they could do straight water -> ice. I guess I can't see why not. Hmmm... perhaps I should look into one.

If only they made a small countertop slush puppie machine. No, instead all they have are big industrial huge ones that go used for $1k lmfao.

I love that we are having a conversation about frozen ice and slushies. This forum rocks! <3

How ironic, I just had an argument w/ my gf over weather it was called a "slushy" or a "slush puppy." I hate the name "slush puppy" I don't know why.

I hit cumby's everyday at lunch and get an iceee (I think thats what it is anyways) a 32oz one for 83 cents  I usually put a little of each flavor in too, makes it interesting lol

what part of MA are you headin to? if you're near the area stop by sometime and take a spin on the jet ski :devious:

All the cumbies I've seen around here have been those icee crap. I can't stand how those are all like carbonated, or at least have that feel in your mouth like they are.

There is a place by my fiance's parents that has the real slush puppie machine, so I will have to make a 2 1/2 drive out of the way to go grab one sometime. I guess we can go visit them too lmfao.

I used to love Slush Puppies. Haven't had one in years. I always played Mix The Flavor with 'em.

Part of the secret, I think, was the sweetened water and highly concentrated flavoring.

Going to be hitting up in the Winchenton and Amesbury area. My in-laws live in those places and then into NH on some days to see my family.
