Hello everybody! It's been awhile! Again! Anyways,... i'm trying for a slow come back here:) Your probably all wondering what happened!?!? Well,... I'd rather not talk about the details. But,... in a nutshell. I dont have a place to do my work. All of my gear is in storage. Thats the bad news. The good news on the other hand is that my girlfriend and I are planning on getting a house in the next few weeks:) I'm actually suppose to be browsing through hordes of real estate listings now but,... ehhh, I'd rather post this worklog:)

Anyways, this house is either going to have a nicely sized detached garage already waiting for me or it wont and I'll just build:) A BIG one:) A REALLLLLY BIG one:) Yes. It's going to be big:) It's has to be big because I plan on building 3 CNC machines as soon as possible. A router, and laser, and a plasma cutter. They are going to be huge. The router im design now is going to have a footprint of about 6' x 10'. I'll be able to feed this router 4' x 8' shets of material easily. Laser and plasma cutter will be just as big. So yea. I have a lot going on right now.

I have been learning CAD and soon I start learning CAM and everything else involved with CNC. The only stuff I can post right now is the progress of my machines in CAD. Eventually I will bring them to life like I did everything else in the past:)

So yea. Let's get started.

Here's basically where I started with my cnc router. I've never built one before so I didnt really know where to start. I decided that starting from the inside and working my way out was the best way to go. So I started with the spindle. I know what spindle I want so im going to build off of that. Even if I wasn't sure what spindle I wanted, I'd still start with the spindle or the spindle brackets. Start with a basic shape and go on from there. You can always go back to make changes. Fine tune the machine:) To the pics!

Now im just playing around here:) Here's what I approximately what I want for the spindle brackets and the z axis carriage plate. I'm going to make changes to it but it is close.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009_000-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009_000.jpg)

This side of the z axis carriage plate, is threaded. I want to try and cut down on the use of nuts:) Notice there are 8 bolts installed.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009_001-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009_001.jpg)

This side the holes are not threaded. Notice you only see 4 bolts on this side:) I forgot to get a pic of it but the other 4 bolts are on the inside of the spindle brackets. They are holding the spindle brackets to the plate with the threaded holes which is mounted to the other gantry. So if I remove the 4 bolts you can see in the pic,... that plate will come off but the spindle will still be attached to the other plate. Reason being that I'm going to have two gantry's. This way I can seperate the gantry's easily. The spindle will still be attached to the main gantry. The 4 bolts you see in the pic pass completely through the spindle brackets, pulling the one gantry towards the other, sandwiching the spindle and brackets. I'll get pics of this another time.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009_002-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009_002.jpg)

Here's a top shot. You see the 4 nylon washers? This is so you cant tighten one side of the bracket significantly more than the other. The nylon brackets can be compressed a tiny bit which is more than enough to firmly mount the spindle. 4 nylon washers for 4 bolts;)

This machine is going to be BIG and very HEAVY. I'm using mostly 1/4" thick steel. Very heavy. Till next time.

hmmm, have you tried the reprap forums?

they tend to have pretty good info on home built machinery.

having said that, you sound as though you've been working on this some time..

Never heard of that forum. I will research it. I and following cnczone.com. A lot of great people there with great machines.

I haven't really been working on this long at all. Pondering the idea for a few months. Modeling for a few weeks.

Ok, here's my gantry idea. This is the y axis. It's about 7" tall from point to point. It's about 2" wide. Lastly,... it's 66 inches long. 5'5",... thats almost as tall as me:) There will be two of these that will sandwich the spindle. Thats a lot of welding:\

Ok, here's what I got right now. Not as much as I thought I would be posting but it's better than nothing. I just kep t redoing stuff because of uncertainty. But I have a lot of the siving figured out for this machine. I serioulsy had to sit down and think it through hard. Because it's that important.

Ok,... here's one side of the gantry. THis is just a sizing up phase. There's so much missing. I'm just trying to get a feel for how big things need to be. The Y axis rail you see here is 10" tall rfom point to point and 5.5' long. 10" tall to insure that it can hold the weight of the spindle, the Z axis stepper motor, etc without dipping down when these components make their way to the center of the ganrty. This Y axis rail is also 2" wide to insure that is wont flex back and forth. 2" in width really has nothing to do with the actual width of the gantry when it comes to strength. You probably thinking 2" of steel. By having a 2" wide gantry of this style, I am able to use a 1.5" x 1.5" angle iron that has a thickness of 1/4". This angle iron is the most important part. It's does most of the work, at least when it comes down to prventing flexing forward and backwards. Hard to explain.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-10-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-10-2009_000-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-10-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-10-2009_000.jpg)

Here's the Y carriage I think its callled. I call it the sled:) For whatever reason. It has two jobs. It carries the spindle across the Y axis and provides a rail the the Z axis sled which isn't shown in the pic. Just the Zaxis bearings. The bearing are everyday 8mm x 22mm x 7mm skate bearings. Why skate bearings? Because their cheap!!! The v-groove bearings I wanted to use are $10 each!!! I would need 34 of them!!! You do the math.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-10-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-10-2009_001-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-10-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-10-2009_001.jpg)

Here comes the hard part to explain. I wanted the bearings for the Y axis sled to be as wide as possible to promote rigidness. I was shooting for about 12" from bearing center to bearing center. Right now I am at 10". Which is the minimum for the gantry and 10" from point to point. 10" x 10" is a square. Thats good because that square can move in any direction without losing rigidness due to an uneven size. So lets say for example I have the gantry at 10" from point to point(tip of angle iron on both sides) and the length from bearing center to bearing center for the sled moving on the Y axis was only 4". It's hard to explain but the ends would kind of drag. Now,... the distance between Y axis bearing centers is 10". That doesnt mean the Z axis rail from point to point is or has to be 10". It cant be actually. For this design,... the length of the Z axis rail cant be any longer than the overall distance from the very top of the top Y axis bearing to the very bottom of the bottom Y axis bearing. Reason being that I plan on adjusting bearing tension with very thing shims. So, that over distance is about 11.75". So I made the Z rail 11.625" long. Now you figure out how much Z asix travel you want for the spindle to move. I want 4" total. 11.625" - 4" = 7.625" left. I rounded down a bit to be safe. So I have 7.5" MAX for the Z axis bearings. THe bearing are .86614 in diameter, I rounded them up to 1" for reasons of simplicity and clearance. So of the max space of 7.5" you subtract the radius of each bearing which is .5"(half of the forgiving 1") so that leaves us with 6.5" from bearing cetner to bearing center. So now I know how wide my Z rail should be,... around 6.5":) I made mine 7.5" which is obviously larger than 6.5". I would of loved to have a perfect square like the Y axis bearing are to the Y rail but 6.5 x 6.5 is getting kind of small. I gave the width that extra inch because the area is small enough to the point the dragging ends and flexing isnt all that bad. So yeah. But do you see how the size of one things totally affects another? Did you guys understand any of that? LOL. I hope so. I tried to explained.

Thanks dude. I actually redesigned everything due to the fact that I would run into a lot of problems with the fabrication process. So I tweaked what I have to make life easier. Newly updated parts will be uploaded tomorrow.

Ok. I made some changes. I made this changes because I would of ended up running into a load of problems with the last design. Tha last deisng being completely welded. The problem with that is welding deformation. It can be done,... just not by me with what I have available. Also,... the last design for the gantry half weighed 60lbs. Thats 60lbs just for the one gantry half. There 2 gantry's total so thats 120lbs so far and I still have tons more to add to the gantry. So here what I have come up with.

It's a completely bolt together design. IT s a combination of aluminum and steel. The gantry itself is made of 6061 aluminum and the bearing track surface is steel. The aluminum angle is 2"x2"x3/8". The ribs are 1/2" thick. I want to than tich to help prevent the angles from shifting from side to side!?! I dont know whats what with this thing, front, back side etc. Anyways.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009_000-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009_000.jpg)

Seeing that the ribs a bit thicker I decided to use less of them. They are spaced apart about 4.5" and there are 14 of them spanning 65".
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009_001-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009_001.jpg)

There are eight 8-32 socket bolts per ribs to ensure that everything it held together tight. I will be using locktite. 4 of the the bolts per rib pass through the aluminum angle only. The other 4 pass through both the steel track and the aluminum angle.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009_002-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009_002.jpg)

I have the steel track in place for the bearings. Thebearing is mated with the aluminum wouldnt last to long because the bearing would leave a nasy impression inot he aluminum ruining what precision the machine does have.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009_003-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-04-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009/cvriv_cncrtr_001_05-13-2009_003.jpg)

This stucture you see here only weighs 43.725lbs. Thats alot but this is a big machine and big machines most of the time weigh alot. It's nothing compared to the 60lbs the last one weighed. I tried to use only a steel angle witht he aluminum ribs but that just didnt work. Witht eh sizes available, 1.5"x1/4" steel angle woudl of only weighed a shy less then what you see now. But I feel as if it wouldnt be as rigid as what you see because the angle is shorter in side length plus the bolts would be closer together, killing some strength. The next size up for the steel angle is 2"x1/4" and that would easily weigh this thing past the weight for this one. Plus it would be very wide at 2.5". That would mean wider ribs which would add more weight. SO i think this is it. What do you all think?!?!?

You know what,... I dont have time for this. I'm just going to build a MechMate. Now is not the time for me to be designing routers. I need a router plain and simple to cut out my normal design work. I nee dot make money. So I will skip out on designing a router,... atleast for now. My girlfriend and I are on the brink of getting a house with a garage. Which means I can get started build the router right away. Plus I have to much going on to think straight.

Yeah I plan on finishing blackout but I have other thing that I need to do first. I have so much to do I feel like im going to just lose it. First thing is first. I need a place to work. Im going to see houses tomorrow. They all have nice big garages. Second on my list is to build a meahmate router. I need automation. I cant be making stuff by hand anymore. That takes to much time. I want to start making money do what I love. After that I want to build a plasma cutter. The list goes on. But I have to start somewhere.

So yea. These were made to specifcation using the DXF file's that come with the MM plans. Imperial thicknesses and metric dimensions. I have to make tiny alteration here and there so I could get the parts to bend within the software. No biggy. I am going to start modeling the rest of the components now. I think all the remaining components are actually made by the MM builder. After that I can finally assemble.

Build a plasma cutter ey ;). I can't wait to see the build log for that HAHA.

I was actually going to try and build a laser after this MM. I was going build another MM and fit a laser to it. It's been done. I know lasers are crazy expensive but its cuts through everything with precision. I dont know how expensive,... if it's STUPID expensive then I'll jut build a plasma cutter to start. Using the MM design of course:) After I have build a few MM's. I will start design my own.

Here's an update. According to the plans but with a few changes. Check it out.

Here's how I would like my table to be. The plans call for the 8 cross beams(1010302SB) to be welded to the x beams(1010322SA) because it's permanent. That way you dont have to worry about the able going out of square. Which is good because thats one less thing to worry about. BUT! like some,... I need to be able to dismantle this machine for transport. What you see in the image below weighs about 650lbs. Thats according to Inventor. AND! Thats only what you see! LOL.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_000-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_000.jpg)

So instead of welding these 8 beams I am going to do what many others are doing. Im going to bolt them.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_001-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_001.jpg) http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_002-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_002.jpg) http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_003-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_003.jpg)

To keep help keep the table square,... I and going to weld a support bar across the ends of the beams, in sets of 4. These support bars will hold the cross beams together so that they are square. When the x beams are bolted to them they will be square with each other. Once the table surface is bolted down to the cross beams, it will help hold the table square too. Plus the legs of the table will help to hold the table square also.

Forgive my Inventor rendering abilites,... im still trying to figure that out. In this pic you can see the inventor welds for the end plate(1010324GA) for the x beam(1010322SA).
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_005-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_005.jpg)

Here's the bolts that will hold the x beam to the cross beams. 16 x 3/8"-16 heavy hex bolts. I have to use beveled washer because the steel channel has an internal taper. It very dark. Sorry.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_006-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-26-2009_006.jpg)

Im using 3/8"-16 socket head bolts for the table. These bolts will screw directly into the the cross beams for ease of removal.

I dont want to weld to much because I dont want to deform the metal to much. I think i'll be fine with this. The very end with the flat side facing out gets welded all around the channels shape. The remaining 3 only get a top and bottom weld. That should be good. It's not like those support bars are going to be taking on a load.

Sorry for the delay. I've been stupid busy. Working. Sleeping. Buying a house. I have a ton of stuff going on. Didn't really get much drawing done but this is what I do have done,...

I did a few things actually. I remade the spoil board because I just wasn't understanding how the spoil board works. There the bottom layer of the spoil board called the support board that gets bolted to the table. Then there are spoil layers that get glued to the support board. You pretty much embed the bolts within the layers. You use nuts on the underside of the table to hold the support board down. Now, you use the router to surface that spoil board so its clean and square to the router bit. Once the surface of the spoil board is destroyed enough, thats when you surface the spoil board with the router again. once you cut down far enough you then go ahead and glue on another layer:) Cool right? Anyways. I had drawm up the legs and supports for the table too. I totally forgot to take a pic of it but the way I have it, the entire machine disassembles into a few pieces. Well more than a few but not as many as there could of been. The two largest pieces of the machine are the sides. A side is mostly welded together with few things bolted to it. The side are held together with table cross supports and leg supports. Not including the gantry,... thats a total of 10 pieces right. Atleast right now. The sides are way heavy. But I can move them.

Been practicing my welding skills. My girlfriend bought me a 110V 140amp Lincoln MIG for xmas. Seeing that there is a god amount of welding involoved with the mechmate router,... im practicing now. I only have like 2 hours of practice under my belt. LOL. But I'm doing good! I have a good grasp on flux-core welding with a MIG welder. In this pic I'm set up to make a weld. I'll first tack weld that in place and then complete the weld with two hands. I'm ok with one hand but I perfer two when I can. This is going to be a strength test because many dont believe that a small 110V welder can weld 1/4" steel. Going to prove them wrong!

Sloppy. It's been several days since my last 1 hour practice session. LOL. I have to stop welding to the ends. I'm melting the ends away.

I'm going to do a 3" run across this section here. I have it already tack welded in place. I'm at it with the wire speed at 1.5 here. I prefer 1. Better penetration. But you have to go slower through to fill in the weld.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_008-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_008.jpg)

Done. This is pretty ok. The brown stuff is slag from the flux-core wire.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_009-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_009.jpg)

Just did the other side with the wire speed at 1. You see how the weld is concaved? I think they call it undercut. Its from not filling in the weld aka slow wire speed. I used a wire speed of 1 which is ok but I went to fast. Didnt give the machine enough time to fill it in. This has good penetration though. Everything was melted under that bead.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_010-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_010.jpg) http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_011-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_011.jpg)

This "thing" your looking at is a wire speed setting of 2. The inside panel of the welded said I should be using a wire speed setting of 2.5 for 1/4". I dont get it. It obviously doesnt work. Not enough heat for that wire speed. There was tons of kick back, respark, slatter,.... just ewww. You see how the weld bead is large? Thats from not having enough heat. The bead grows quick because theres just enough heat to melt the wire onto itself. Not enough to heat the work too. Poor penetration.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_012-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_012.jpg)

This is a wire speed of 1. This time I went slower. The beads looks more like a chamfer now as oppose to a concave. I really should be using a wire speed of about 1.5. You want to build up but I like this weld. It's clean and tight.

Here's the ugly weld with some of the slag removed. There's still some left. It's actually looks like melted metal. It all has to be removed before painting. Best to grind some of the weld away to be sure the slag is gone. Or if you have a sand blaster, which I dont.

My pretty weld. The slag is on the edge of the bead.

Tried getting a cross cut to see how far I penetrated but that obviously didnt work. I wonder how they get cross cuts?!?! You see the difference in bead size? Although the bigger bead looks stronger,... ?I have my money on the smaller beads. I know I penetrated far.

Here's a crappy 1.5 wire speed. I was playing around to see what would happen if you moved to fast or two slow. Just want edo t see what would happen. I was moving a bit fast in this pic.

Moving fast here too.

Time for the strength test. Did the 110V welder do the job most think is not likely? We'll see. This is the first weldment I did. I did it with a wire speed of 1 with the amperage maxed. I went kind of quick with this weld. Not 100% sure it will hold. maybe 90% sure. I had a weld kind of like this break the last time I tried. But I was super new at that point.
http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_020-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_020.jpg) http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_021-180.jpg (http://www.theelitemodder.com/worklogs/cvriv_mechmate_001_05-23-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009/cvriv_mechmate_001_06-06-2009_021.jpg)

So I did another one with the same settings except this time I went slow allowing the heat to seriously soak into the metal creating that permanent bond I am looking for. I stayed clear from the edges too. Still sloppy.

This is where I will do a lot of my clean work such as light fabrication, assembling, packaging, computing, etc. The other room will be where all the dirty work happens. I actually want to move the furnace into this room. The dirty room will be messed with dust from wood, acrylic, metal. I dont want it to funk up the furnace.

Oh yea. Storage. I might even put a mechmate router up here. Maybe two. I dont know. The machines are very heavy. Maybe if I brace the ceiling some more from downstairs. I want all my fire starting machines down stairs on the concrete. I dont know. We'll see.

Anyways,... I'll start posting real work very soon. I am hoping to start the router fairly soon and definitely start working on blackout right away. As soon as I move in and get all my stuff out of storage. Patience.

Nice job on the welding. Personally I haven't ever done any myself but from what I have seen your welds look pretty strong.

Congratz on getting the house mate, looks great, you have lots of modding space there ;).

Yo,... you have to try welding. Dude, I can't explain it but like everything else,... its addicting! I can't wait to put it to serious use.

I plan on finishing blackout in that garage. Thats where blackout will come to an end. Finally.

Yeah, shame I never got a chance to do welding. My school brought in the Metal Work course the year after I graduated so yeah, I got shafted lol. It is on my to do list though.

Can't wait to see you finish Blackout mate, a true work of art.

Once I am finished moving into this house,.. I am going to take a nigth class for welding at a local college. I think its fairly cheap and higly recommended. The guy that inspected our house is a welder. He;s been welding since the 60's. He said to take the class. After the class you know exactly what you want to do and get.

Is it just me, or does his house look a lot like the boathouse in the boathouse finale in L4D, and he has the barn from the farmhouse as well!

The fine line between RL and Cyberspace has been stretched again ever so slightly lol.
