I have been looking into purchasing some DDR2 1066 RAM seeing as the new mobo I most likely will be getting will support these speeds.

I am looking at something along the lines of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231241
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227362
I have considered asking one of you who live in America to buy it and ship it for me and I could pay you for the RAM and postage through PayPal but after a few quick calculations the RAM plus postage would come to around $63USD which equates to around $83AUD. Considering I can buy a 1066 kit for around $85AUD over here it hardly seems worth it.

Currently I have 2 of these kits:
http://newgskill.web-bi.net/bbs/view.php?id=g_ddr2&no=100
One of the kits is about 2 years old and the other is less than 1 year old, both kits run very well.
I would be willing to trade if anyone is interested.

If anyone has 4GB (2x2GB) of DDR2 1066 RAM at timings around 5-6-6-18 that they would be willing to sell or if they know anyone who is looking to sell please post here or send me a PM.

I wouldn't be able to buy/trade right away as I am still waiting to validate my PayPal account and I still don't know what mobo DFI will be replacing my broken one with.

Thanks in advance.

I could ship you a 4GB kit (2x2GB) for about $4.50 (USD). Look for memory with a rebate.

memory with rebates on tiger direct (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=3413&name=4096MB-DDR2-Dual-Channel-Memory-PC8500&Nav=|c:2531|&Sort=0&Recs=10)

I haven't claimed any of those rebates yet this month. Shipping from tiger direct will cost me $1.99. You can also look on newegg, and I will tell you if I haven't claimed the rebate yet, but chances are I have.

Thanks for your help. I looked at the RAM with mail in rebated on Newegg but the rebates end in a few days (15 March) and I still don't know what motherboard I am getting plus I have heard a few bad things about rebates not getting paid etc. The postage I was looking at was $12.95USD through USPS, pretty expensive IMO, costs me that much to get 2Kg of gear shipped over here lol.

I just took a quick look at the RAM on TigerDirect and have found a few good kits that have rebates valid until the 31st May.
Here are the kits:
OCZ Fatal1ty (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4350425&csid=ITD&body=MAIN#detailspecs)
OCZ Reaper (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4350424&csid=ITD&body=MAIN#detailspecs)
OCZ Platinum (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3803377&csid=ITD&body=MAIN#detailspecs)

The Fatal1ty RAM is a great buy and may be the way to go but the Platinum is also a great buy. If I get the Reaper RAM I won't be able to use my OCZ RAM cooler which isn't a real biggy as I always thought the mods I did to it weren't up to par and the cooler gets in the way of my water loop. If I get any of those kits it will probably be the Reaper kit.

I am hoping I will get my motherboard situation sorted out over the next week so that should give you plenty of time to submit the rebate, I will keep you posted.

Oh one more thing, I wont be able to sign for any shipment because we live rurally on a property and it is quite hard to find our place if you haven't been there before, we usually get stuff sent to a PO Box. Is that a problem? The Reaper memory is the heaviest coming in at .5 pounds, then it is the Platinum at .25 pounds and then the Fatal1ty at .20 pounds.

Thanks again for your help and generosity.

I would be shipping through USPS, so it would go through the Australian postal service. The way I ship them, it will usually take 1-2 weeks for the stuff to arrive, and you won't need to sign for it. I have been getting back the checks or prepaid cards for all of the rebates so far, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I just got an email from DFI. They are sending me a brand new 680i board so it looks like I won't be upgrading my RAM.

Thanks for your help anyway nevermind.

*EDIT*
I am just having a quick look, it may be worth upgrading to 2x2GB sticks.

Do you mind ordering this kit nevermind?

May as well upgrade from 4x1GB stick to 2x2GB sticks, especially when its' this cheap.

I am still waiting for bank account verification from PayPal so I will send you a PM when that is all sorted and you can place the order.

You can if you want, I just don't want to put you out because I can't pay for it yet cos the PayPal payments wont show in my bank account so I can't verify.

*EDIT*
The funds came through then, I am verified and ready to go. Just let me know how much I owe you and I will transfer the cash into PayPal.
