I have been published in Maximum PC twice, PC Enthusiast (no longer in print) twice, PC Modder, PC Magazine, Australia's Atomic magazine, and the UK's PC Answers. The one magazine I have never made into is CPU magazine. Obviously it's one of the most popular PC magazines in the U.S. and I have submitted damn near every project I've ever created to them. The Mad Reader Mod every month receives a 12 month subscription to the magazine and a whopping $1500 prize! Well after all these years I finally got the email that floored me:

Congratulations! We love the Cuda mod, and we’ve chosen it as a Mad Reader Mod winner. We will display the mod on an upcoming CPU cover and of course in the MRM article inside the issue, and you will receive $1,500 in prize money and a free 12-issue subscription to CPU!

They tell me that it will probably be in the August issue!!

Too cool man. Are they going to send a photographer out, or will you be taking the shots yourself?

Congrats dude!!!! I've been trying to get on the cover too with Dark Carbon. They said they are intrigued about it, but I never heard anything more.
How long did it take for them to choose it after you submitted it?

CPU typically choose rigs that look like a computer. They almost never pick custom builds. The 'Cuda mod is right up their alley. :)

Congratz mate. The Cuda mod is a very well executed mod, you deserve it. +rep

You can't just quit like that. We are your family and you can't just expect to walk away from your family. There will be consequences.... LOL

Mod something besides a computer. Or start integrating computers into other stuff. Even though its been done, I still want to integrate a computer into a desk, a touch screen computer into a coffee table, and mod other things related to my personal interests. If I ever get a physical xomputernstore going I'm going to have modded motorcycle helmets as a draw.
