OK, So since my return a couple of days ago I have had several PM's asking me what's up?

Here it is in a nutshell;

Lost connection to TBCS at work sometime around October. Been so busy at home I have not been able to turn the computer on and when I do, I immediately fire up some alien killing game for stress relief.

Work: Busy! and getting even busier. We moved into new digs around October and we are almost ready to outgrow this place as well. We are being creative in setting up our work flow. I am now Project Manager in charge of Contract Manufacturing. Too bad I know nothing about project management. I am only working 2 jobs now. I gave up my part time IT job because of my busy work and home schedule. My second job is still as a personal chef for 2 customers. My in laws and their friends. Not enough time to take on others right now.

Home: Re-plumbed my entire house and installed an on demand water heater. Only one leak so far and it was because I forgot the Teflon tape. Water heater is GREAT! Started tearing out stuff to work on a kitchen remodel we have been planning for 10 years...

Motorcycle: STILL in the shop and it will be a year that they first gave me a quote next week. I have had it back all of one weekend. The first time I got it back, I made it 12 miles before it died. Someone forgot to adjust (or even tighten) the adjustable push rods. The second time I got it back, I was able to ride home, then had to ride it back to the shop since it is spitting oil out of the transmission case... This is after the original shop in Santa Cruz went out of business back in November and I had to organize a raiding party to get my bike back and over to San Jose. The police were even called on me for that stunt. The time I did get to ride it was AWESOME! So much power!

Other: This year marks our 20th wedding anniversary and I am stoked to even be here. We have a looong vacation planned to celebrate and at first work was not going to let me go that long, but I told them I was going anyways. My marriage is way more important to me than any job. I am now training everyone to hold the fort while I am gone...

SO, I hope that fills everyone in. I am looking forward to jumping in and help out anywhere I can. I am also going put up some freebies soon to clear out my extensive junk closet.

It's good to be back!

Ha, I was just wondering last week or so where you've been.

What kind of motorcycle do you have? One of my old co-workers has one that should be banned from existence its so loud. Its no wonder why he's deaf! The first time I heard it I wasn't even near it and it still made me jump ten feet into the air. The power that bike has is freaking awesome, I wish I could of had a ride on it before I left that place.

Glad to hear that you have the kahuna's to put your marriage before your work. It irritates me beyond belief at how stubborn some managers can be on these kinds of subjects. My friend for example, had been putting in crazy hours, working WHENEVER they called her in, and was doing just an all around phenomenal job at managing the place. Then she asks for the weekend off to go to portland for family and they threaten to fire her. She went anyways and they stupidly let her go for it. It always seems like to me that you can't have one without the other, managers being royal pricks that is.

Glad to hear from you again! Good to know that you're doing well. Good luck with everything and enjoy your anniversary! The big 2-0 is definitely one to celebrate! I don't think I even know anyone who has made it to their tenth. True love is pretty rare it seems these days. That or maybe people are too impatient? lol

Yeah, maybe you could answer some questions for me, as well.

OK, I admit, I have been working on my Bubble gum mod. I am stuck right now on measuring and cutting the plexi for the mobo slide out tray. My measurements _should_ be identical for both sides, but they are not even close...

Yeah, maybe you could answer some questions for me, as well.

I ended up getting the Bosch model. It is gas fired (propane for me), takes NO electricity to start. This is the cool technology; when you turn on a hot water valve (there is a minimum flow limit to get the heater to fire up), the flow of the water, turns a wheel that produces the spark required to light the pilot light, then that lights the burners. 10 seconds after the water goes off, the burners and all gas turns off. We are trying to compare the gas and water bills to see if it makes much of a difference.

BTW, i got the outdoor model which bolts right onto the side of my house. Pretty cool.

Since we lose power several times a year I absolutely had to have a model that required no electricity to run. I can do without a lot of things, but a hot shower is not one.
