I'm thinking of building this case. I'm considering some ideas of it having:

1. Right panel with STL logo

2. Left panel "bird on bat" cut out and 'Cardinals' either painted on or stuck on with a vinyl decal

3. Mini-bat carrying handle

4. Baseball in front blow hole

Any ideas?

mmm... Maybe a ball crashed into the case? In a hole , like an unstopable hit or such us.

Yep. Like where the blow hole would be?

Maybe a side window or the front.

how about one of these 3d baseball stickers... http://www.kingofswords.com/Novelties/Baseball-SHATTERED-GLASS-3D-Reusable-decal-sticker.html

I don't think so. Because the ball will cut down the airflow... (Nice sticker idea, DragNDrop)
Mmm the front blowhole could be something like the catcher mask grid.

Most store bought computers don't have a blow hole fan and they have plenty of airflow

Agree (although depend of the case's quality) but the fun of a blowhole is to have a real hole, IMO. But if you don't care about it, it's totally OK to put the ball in the front, it's maybe the best place.

I'm having difficulty with choosing a color. A complete red case? Something else?

I guess uniforms are white/red... But i believe you, it's difficult, because, you know, a withe case with red touches... or cardinal red with the yellow bat...

If completely red, the bird/logo maybe will look less impressive. Mmm maybe a central wide (3/5) white stripe from right to left, leaving only red parts (1/5 each) at front and rear. That should give you a nice white canvas to play with the red logos.
The strip could have round corners and left a small red area near the bottom edge of the case.

I vote for white with red pinstripes, like a baseball jersey

you could cut a baseball in half and mount it to the fan so it spins with the fan on the blow hole! :D

I was thinking of getting a red case and painting both panels and the drive bays white

do red pinstriping on the white panels. it would look very sexy that way.

ok so I did a google search and didn't see any cardinals jerseys with red pinstriping... lol so maybe it won't fit the theme. but I still think it would look good.

Should integrate a baseball mitt into it somehow too.

Time to do yet another mod. This mod is my 31st project and I'm wondering when I will ever be done. My wife loves baseball and I tolerate it. Here's something that my wife will finally appreciate: A Cardinals themed case, but moreover a Busch Stadium Mod

Like I said it will be a Small Form Factor (SFF) case

I prefer the inside black

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1040006.jpg

And the white is the primer

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1040010.jpg

I want the case to look like the stadium so I will be adding a replica of Busch stadium to the front of the case:

The front of that looks like it's more than large enough for a 120mm blowhole - as a "regulation" baseball shouldn't exceed 76.2mm, and I personally use a 114mm hole for blowholes you could even combine the two - have the baseball hanging in space in the centre of the hole - the remaining space around the ball will be equivalent to an unobstructed 92mm blowhole...

The whole white leather/red stitching would also go nicely with the red/white colour scheme....

No blowhole. The link I posted will be the front

I painted it brick red

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1040151.jpg

Here's the Busch Stadium replica. I used "rock paint" to give it more of a brick feel. As you can clearly see my brick red is too red. I'll have to find something lighter.

When it's done I want to use a slot loading drive too

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1040154.jpg

I got one of these little bats that came out when they won the championship back in '06

http://www.pcmodhouse.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/p1040157.jpg

I cut it to the same length as the case so it'll mount to the top as a case handle. Do you think I should get a new one and leave the length?

I think I'd go with a full length bat - a little overhang on the back of a case can be a useful thing - my mother has killed two motherboards in the last 18 months by pushing the PC back towards the wall too far and bending the connectors on the back panel over.
Are those letters permanently removed? A thought popped into my head about putting the PC on a small base to raise it up just enough for the optical drive to eject just above the letters... maybe something in the same grey as the paving at the foot of the replica?

I'm going to remouont them to the top of the case. Then it'll seem more like they belong together

Project is on hold, as I'm already bored of it. I knew not being a fan would make this happen.
