I have a copy of windows(valid) that has been created with Windows 7 and Vista skins/themes with unattended install. The disk is on DVD.

Problem- I cannot get it to install correctly on my pc in my sig but I can get it to install on my old pc.

Specs (Will not install on this one)
CPU- E6600 (Stock HS/F)
EVGA 680i W/ 8800GTS 640MB
Mushkin DDR2 1066Mhz, clocked at 800Mhz (2x1GB)
WD 250GB Sata II (x2)
LG Blu-Ray Player DVD-RW / Lite-On CD-RW
SilverStone 850W Fully Modular PSU

Specs (Will install on this one)
CPU- P4 NON H/T 2Ghz
Gigabyte Motherboard w/ onboard video
384MB DDR (Might be SDRam)
Hitatchi? 80GB IDE HD
DVD Player / HP CD-RW Drive

Is it possible my newest pc is loading it too fast? lol It only takes maybe 15min to load to the desktop where as the older one takes almost 30-40min (I'm sure part of this is due to hardware).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try removing one stick of ram from the new one, and testing the install again.

I will hopefully be able to try it tonight and let you know. Thanks, I wouldn't have thought to try that.

I've had some issues in the past of installing XP and Vista on machines with more than 1gb ram. I think it's some random combination of mobo/ram/cpu, but less ram always seemed to be the answer for me.

Some motherboards even offer an "Install Mode" that limits the ram reported to 512mb or something for windows installs.

Can't say I have had an issue like this before where the disk and hardware is good but wouldn't install. Usually it worked or didn't at all. That will be cool if it works.

Thanks again!

YMMV.

This isn't a standard OE disk

Did you try burning another copy of it to see if that works?

I did not. I think I hit delete file once burn is complete. I will have to make another file.

I know its probably a crazy thought what if the disk doesn't like the Blue-ray or vice versa? maybe swap out the drives, see if it installs then switch back.

I know my CD RW / DVD ROM drive hates DVD+R and -R.

Bopher- It is a DVD which I have burned with the Blu-Ray drive. It also reads other disks from that spindle. I will try the swap if the ram removal doesn't work. Too much work. lol

Nevermind1534- This is a DVD+R which I have used the drive for to burn and read from the same spindle this one came from. I spose it is possible to be dumb like that though.

Thanks guys, really appreciate it!

*UPDATE*

Removed a stick a ram, same issue. Left the stick of ram out, and used the Pioneer DVD drive from other pc and it worked! Really weird and thanks for all the help!
