I have an uncle who is a long time Mac user who is looking to upgrade to a windows based laptop/desktop as his Mac randomly crapps itself. He is a small business owner and has everything saved as the .cwk files that Appleworks uses. The information on these documents are vital to his business and because there are so many of these files he would hate to have to re-type every single word doc and spread sheet. Is there a windows based program that will support these files, or is there a way to convert the files to standard MS files?

I know there is a version of Appleworks for windows but I don't think this is the way to go because it is compatible with nothing else. I am currently looking into icWord and Conversions Plus (http://www.dataviz.com/products/conversionsplus/index.html?redirect=cppanergy), Conversions Plus looks like a winner, then my uncle can just use Office 07. Any other suggestions?

Any help would be great.

Conversions Plus seems like a good option. If one exists, you could find a plugin for Office '07 that allows it to open Mac documents.

You're welcome. Good luck with getting him set up with a working Windows machine.

He has used Windows before, just no a lot lol. I think I may be onto something with the plug in. My auntie came up last night to drop off my new HDD and I gave her the trial version of Conversions Plus so I am waiting to see how that went.
