Dang, if you used 64GB ones, that's quite a bit of space (Also over seven grand lol)! I haven't played around with jump drives much, but can you RAID, or JBOD them?

You can, but since thumbdrives usually don't have write-balancing, it's generally not a good idea to use them for constant use. At that point, you'd be better off using SSDs. 64x64GB thumbdrives (assuming RAID0 or JBOD) comes to ~4TB at a ~$7400, whereas the 250GB OCZ Solid Series, which are nice and cheap at ~$630 each, equivalent capacity would come to ~$5000, and while not stellar SSDs, would almost definitely be faster/more stable than thumbdrives.

Thank you sir (Hope I did the Rep right)! Wish I had the cash to burn to setup something like that. Just for the novelty of it! Great conversation piece I'd imagine! :bunny:

Well lets see. I have 6 external drives, 3 external dvd burners, iTouch cord, joystick, headphones, 3 single cf card readers, 2 printers, 9 jump drives, and a usb fan. That leaves 23 open for other stuff. HMMMM....

Apply a custom RAID in ubuntu across 49 flash drives. Fast.

I think that could fit right at home built into a desk.
If I had the money and was a serial USB fella then yeah that would be dropped into a desk and then can plug what ever I liked into it.

TBH its not a bad thing to have more then enough. it better then not having enough!

Plus the fact almost every external device used with computers is USB, if your computer was fast enough then it can handle talking to all those devices at once. Still, that time is a long way off and the point of this is hopeless. Unless its being used for a business :)
