I have yet to fry a CPU to overclocking, even if it's summer in Down Under.

The first thing I ask anybody who wants to overclock is why?

Now before everyone jumps in, i'll give one of the popular responses.

CAUSE I CAN.....

Now thats out the way we can get serious.

Why?? Why? Why??? why why?

Whats on earth are you trying to do with your PC that makes you want to overclock an XP4000+?

I generally find that overclocking is the last resort... (unless your one of the 'Cause I can' clan ;) - No offence :D )

i picked up a used fx53 for my old neighbors rig (non modded) i built for some xtra cash. he now lives outside cancun in the riviera maya. i have his @ 2.6 stable running hl2 and cs:s hard. i made sure i faned the hell out of it, 5x80mm, the rear ps fan and cut a 120mm on top for the top of the ps. last time i was down there his temps were 42 and that was the first of july. some people want speed. im looking at the x2 4800 or the fx 55 and will push 3.0 with good cooling easy. im a speed junky.
