I've been dreaming about SSD's for years now... and now that they're alllllmost in my reach, this comes out.

Drop it down to $400 and I'll buy one. Not even joking, thats totally worth saving up for!

Either way, $800 is a pretty good price for that little wonder. Usually their products are expensive plus unaffordable multiplied by the rich and wealthy, but $800 really isn't.. too bad? Especially if it can boot windows in one freaking second! Hell, even if it booted windows in four seconds, I'd still be very satisfied with that.

Instantaneous computing is getting closer and closer every day. I can't wait until the future gets here, where there are no load times what-so-ever. I suppose thats when technology will stop updating? Maybe then we can focus on incredible AI solutions, unbelievably realistic graphics and powerfully innovative technology that will change the game completely. (sort of like what the iphone has done to the cellular industry, except in other areas of life and then "times a thousand".)

Doesnt OCZ have a 1tb SSD that fits in a PCI-E slot? Onboard RAID-0 too IIRC

BTW: That Fusion-IO card is not very reliable. Many customers have reported problems with corruption. There are also reports of it just failing after about a month of use. We have stopped offering it to our customers due to the large amount of issues. We are now selling the TMS version. It is a little pricier, but very reliable. The speed is about the same. I personally would hold off until later this year, unless you have $800 to throw down the drain...

I am hoping to get one from each vendor, as well as some SSD's to benchmark, sometime in August.

I'm holding off on ssd drives for possibly another year, simply can't afford them yet.

But if I had the money now I would go for these 2 samsung ssd's

Samsung PB22-J 128GB - Read: Up to 220MB/sec --- Write: Up to 200MB/sec

for main system drive

and

And that's all because they are endorsed by Fatal1ty lol.
