From what it seems... this new Guitar Hero is just a cheap go for more money...
in the demo it apears as if all the songs r just the hit from other GH titles... they even show which ones they r from on the left hand side...
i find this seriously disapointing... and will not be touchin this game if these things continue to be true... ive already got all the other GHs... why am i gunna buy one with the same songs? ive already got em

I used to be into DDR, but then there were a million different versions that were only available to certain consoles, and the songs from that version were spread out through a bunch of versions on the console I had, and then when it started getting really popular it seemed a new version came out every six months (or whatever, but too soon in any case), and that's when I lost interest and apparently everyone else too. Now DDR isn't all that popular. I see this happening to Guitar Hero soon.

People who have one version want to relate to other owners of the game. This gets harder when there are a million versions of the game floating around.

Guitar hero would be a lot cooler if it cost the same as an album and included all the songs from that album. Or include it with the CD for $5 more. That would help the dying CD business.

I figured after most people beat 1,2,3 and rock band 1,2, the whole guitar thing would die. it did for me. How many songs do i have to play and beat to finish the epic series?

They made an awesome game, and it continually got worse. rock band 2 was an improvement over 1, but, i wont get 3 if it ever came out.

dont waste your money on any more sequels, that always dissappoint

They found an extremely profitable game that takes next to nothing to spit out... I'm surprised they stooped that low though. I was expecting a long series of band-titled guitar heroes.

+1.

GH was good through 2, 3 was alright and I've not played Rock Band. GH Encore was alright, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, but then again, I'm one of those hopeless 80's metalhead types, so a lot of the music in Encore appealed to me

But when you get to 7 games in the GH series (that is, released games on non-portable consoles), it's a wee bit too much. Do we really need a GH just for Aerosmith or Metallica?

Maybe it's just because I'm a real musician that I am kind of missing the point on most of these games. Playing bass is consistently more fun than GH.

Seven of those games could easily get you a new desktop. The Internet has an infinite amount of possibilities.

Areosmith, maybe. Metallica, hell no. Van Halen? Oh **** yeah. I might actually break down and buy GH:VH for the PS2 if and when it comes out.

I think this is where another model of game might make sense though. I wouldn't ever get an Aerosmith version, but Metallica would be great. Guitar hero releases that are more like 'albums' are way better than trying to find more and more "best ever" rock songs like the 1st did, 2nd did pretty well, and 3rd did okay playing cleanup. After that you sorta wonder where the song choice is coming from.

I was a bassist all through college. It's SO much more fun than this. Just cover j-pop.

I'd new it would be a fail because of the hammer ons and because they charted the songs really really bad.
