I used a remote app a while back to work on my gfs mom's computer. They could see everything I was doing and such so it was a very friendly app.

Anyone happen to know what it's called or any other software similar? I want the user on the other end to be able to watch over what I'm doing for trust reasons. Obviously people are a little "meh" about having someone work on their computer online!

Msn messenger actually lets you do it and lots of people have it so no software needs to be installed.

I'll agree. Windows Messenger is probably the easiest to install and use for the average person. Going more technical with things like VNC, PCAnywhere, or even RDP will confuse most people.

Routers, Firewalls, NATs... no problem.

I'll check out these options. Anyone know how I would go about diagnosing remotely? Would I have to download something through their computer?

I know there's remote tools on windows... anyone know if there are any limitations I may run into while trying to work on a computer remotely?

It's actually for an ex of mine... she wants to take me out to coffee so I can work on it there but I don't think that's right, especially to my girlfriend.

logmein is your best bet, all they need do is create an account and install there software, she then gives you the login details.

There's also the microsoft remote desktop connection. You need one of the more expensive versions of windows on the host computer, though.
