.............um....bad person.

The other day I was working on the dock with two other guys. I was prepping the dock and since I haven't been on truck crew for a while I asked what order they wanted the side pallets.

I'll back up a little...

On truck, we lay out a bunch of pallets in a specific order that everyone grew to use. Girls, boys, wheels, preschool, sports, "imaginarium", juvenile. There are 4 side stacks, R-zone, registers, consumables and seasonal.
Recently they changed truck crew hours from 4am on to 6am on... so we have 2 hours less time to do things. Because of this, the main set of pallets are now "U-Boats" because pallets aren't allowed on the floor when the store opens. Since we don't have many U-boats, we use pallets for those side stacks.

Now the the background is finished...

I haven't worked truck crew for a while so I was unfamiliar with the order of the side stacks... since they are regulars on truck days I asked them what order they wanted them to be (so I knew where to put stuff off of the rollers). They said it doesn't matter. I said "ooook, fine... "whateva...DO WHAT I WANT" (southpark).

After I left the dock to go run a U-boat out the manager threw a fit and started saying "I'm the wrong person to say that around! He has a lot to lose! blah blah blah." My buddies told him I was just kidding and it wasn't a big deal... and he said it was. They told me about it a little later so I went to clear things up with the manager and he just sarcastically smiled and ignored me.

Ever since then he ignores me on radio... if I have a question he just keeps walking, etc...

I was called in yesterday because an employee had court. I usually don't work the floor and WOW was it insane on a weekend sale day. I was counting down the seconds until I could clock out so needless to say, I forgot to pick up my check and pick up my hours. The store phone doesn't ring until the store opens and since I don't know the office number I couldn't get ahold of anyone. I figured there was a small chance I may work today because that's my luck so I went in at 5:50 and sat in the parking lot until 6:15. No1 showed up so I left and came back at 7:45. Turns out I in fact did work at 8am. This is the second Sunday ever since November. Because I never work Sundays (and never work the floor) I didn't come in uniform. The prick manager sent me home when the store opened even though I would have been on the dock or up stairs.

I got 2 hours this week because of it.

All because I "did what I wanted" as in... what order the pallets were gunna be in.

Managers are assholes, you can't have one without the other. Just ignore him and do what you're told/needs to be done. If the way he is acting interferes with you working, then contact the higher-ups.

I was fired/quit my job at KFC a few years back because the hiring/schedule manager was pissed that I had to take two weeks off to finish up school. Go figure.

I would of probably done the same to be honest. A couple days? Sure. But two weeks? I don't know. Maybe if you had been working there for at least a year then I would of just counted it as your vacation or something. You should of tried working something out with them or with your school. But meh, its only KFC, not exactly a huge loss or anything. lol

Well I had been working there around 11 months. They had just hired a bunch of people that weren't exactly great employees shortly before I left so it doesn't make sense to me as to why they canned one of their better ones. It was just the end of my senior year of high school and I had exams along with a driving school thing in the evenings. Couldn't really be helped, oh well. The new managers there sucked anyway. Just because a person is a manager of a fast food joint doesn't mean that they're "all that." lol

Get a hold of HIS manager. Let him/her know the situation.
