Need some help from an Excel expert..

I'm at work running Excel 2003 (probably professional), I'm making a little spread sheet with a couple motors with gear ratios. Problem is when I go to type the ratio in a cell it automatically converts it to a time stamp.

Example:
I have 3 ratios 5.5:1, 11:1, and 22:1. When I type in 5.5:1 it stays like that (because of the deimal), but when I type 11:1, or 22:1 they become 11:01, and 22:01. In the edit bar at the top they show up as 11:01:00, and 22:01:00.

Does anyone kow how to disable this? It even does it if I put a space around the colon, like this 11 : 1.

*Ninja edit: I just tried 22.1 and it comes up like this: 01/22/1900 02:24:00.

**Yet another edit: I figured it out, figures after I posted this too... lol. For future reference though, right click the cell and go to "Format Cells...". Then select "Text" from the "Category" menu under the "Number" tab.
