Alright, I popped in my new Abit AWD9-MAX board, with my Pentium D 820, same mem, etc. I turned the system on for the first time, the LCD readout shows 4E and it hangs there. According tt the manual this means:
1. Program MTRR of M1 CPU
2. Initialize L2 cache for P6 class CPU & program CPU with proper cacheable range
3. Initialize the APIC for P6 class CPU
4. On MP platform, adjust the cacheable range to smaller one in case the cacheable ranges between each CPU are not identical
no idea what this actually means
I do know that this board supports Pentium 4, Pentium D, Pentium Dual-core, Core 2 Duo and is quad-core ready, so I'm not sure why this isnt working. I tried removing and re-seating the CPU, no go.
can anyone point me in the right direction? :?
