We should get a bunch of members to try this and see if it actually works! or maybe test out other methods and report our findings here? Lets do it!

First attempt at homebrew WiFi Booster: Lining a large bowl with tin foil and then placing my laptop inside of it didn't do anything. Tried a few different directions and got nothing. I know for a fact where some WiFi spots are and couldn't pick them up at all. Maybe if I had a WiFi adapter instead...

this is a good idea, lol I am currently "borrowing" internet from a hotel that is across the street from my apartment, don't always get the best signal though. this might be a good solution! lol

If you have a thumb drive antenna, stick it inside a pringles can. I think they call it a "cantenna" if you want to google it.

Totally off topic and yet kinda on topic. I need to make one of these for my radio that had its antenna broken off. I just need to find a good way to go about it and some extra time to invest.

Well if you can attach a spool of wire to it, just take the spool and unravel it or throw it up into a tree or something. Thats what I do when I go camping to give a huge boost to the radio signal.

Even better idea. Get one of those large toroids from a Tesla coil. Omnidirectional, ftw.

I've done this before, take a vegtable steamer. Cut out just enough space for a Piece of metal rod to go through that is connected to a wire.

It works great!
