I want one.

$599.99? That's awesome! The only thing I don't like is the weird hinge design...

Think I'll still get a Dell Studio though. I got to play around with my friends and oh-em-gee are they nice! Man I love some good competition though. The consumer always wins. :)

The only downside I see to that laptop is the graphics.

For $600 I wouldn't expect much anyways. At least they chose the 4500MHD processor. Not amazing for gaming, but great for HD playback. Although, chipsets like the 950 can play most games pretty well and this chip is supposedly quite a bit better. So as long as you don't want to play Bioshock or other intensive games like that, it'll probably work just fine.

They didn't choose a very powerful processor either. Its an "energy-sipping" Pentium Single Core 1.3GHz processor.

This laptop was definitely designed to be as portable as possible without becoming a netbook but still offering excellent battery life. Which is pretty great. If the price was more around the netbook range, I'd probably choose one of these over a netbook. Three inches isn't that much more really.

Seems like excluding optical drives is becoming quite the trend lately. At least it has HDMI.

Much better laptop deals can be had, if your in the market for long battery life maybe thats your game but I would much rather spend a little more and get something like.

No, I hate laptops just because of their crappy battery life. My Asus 1000HE is still my preferred rig. On a bad day I get 5 hours out of the battery
