ijust recently upgraded from an 8600GT to an gts 250 1gb superclocked on idle it hits 100f (39c) and load it its 124f (51c) the lowest temp recorded on it was 93 f (31c) its ultimate fail temp is 180f (82c) i was wondering if theres anyway i could get it to that 31c without going watercooling, i have good cable managment and i modded my case to accept 2 more intake fans. i have my case set up for a negative pressure set up i have 3 intakes and 2 exhausts any ideas? help would be greatly apreciated i just want it to break the 100f ( 39c) idle barrier without breaking the bank ( i want to make sure my new investment lasts a very long time)

have you swapped out the stock thermal paste yet? that should drop at least 5C.

otherwise diy a fan over the stock heatsink fan. i did that with my 9800gtx and it helped another 5c IIRC.

What do you consider breaking the bank? There are all kinds of aftermarket VGA coolers that perform better than most stock coolers. If that's an option what's your price range?

do it yourself - diy.

let me find a pic of what i did with a fan for my card when it was still on air.

with thoose temps you dont have to worry about heat problems. thats very low temps for a gfx card anyway. i had many cards running 24/7 on 70+ celcious, without problems.

but if you want the temp lower than what you have, then use some sort of program to speed up the stock fan. normally it would do so automaticly when under load, but i think you should be able to find a program that could do it on your nvidia card:) google "manuel fan control on gts250" or something like that:)
