I just completed my first build for a paying customer.

A friend of mine wanted to me to build him a gaming system for his sons graduation present. He wanted something simple not a lot of flash, what was important for him was a system that his son could play the games he plays now (WOW) and anything else he might want to play plus a system that would be easy for him to upgrade. And also had lots of storage for music and movies

So this is what i put together.

Case: Cooler Master Sileo 500
PSU: Cooler master Sileo 500w
Processor: AMD Phenom II x3 720 3.4ghz (oced)
Mobo: ECS Black Series A790GXM-AD3
Memory: Gskill 4gb 1333
Graphics: XFX Radeon 4850 1gb (oced 690/1033)
Case: Cooler Master Sileo 500
PSU: Cooler master Sileo 500w

As for mods there isnt a whole lot, Main thing i did was sleeve the psu and add modular connectors to the cables so they can be removed and added as needed as well as building a few custom cables so they could be effectively managed. I also changed out the case fans, put two antec tricool fans i had laying around in the front (one in the factory location another i modded to fit behind the empty drive bay covers) and one of the new cooler master r4 high flow fans (90cfm at 19dba).

Once i was done with the build i oced the proc and gpu. During Prime 95 stress test the cpu didnt get above 50c w/ that cooler master hyper 520 cooler. GPU max temp was around 65c during 3dmark 6. (scored 13890)

Here are the pics, sorry for the poor quality the camera i was using is pretty crappy

Nice and effective. What kind of HD space does it have?

Looks like your number 1 sata cable going into the mobo is a little stressed. Other than that, nice wire management for a customer/for that case.

How well does that fan work with the bay covers blocking a good portion of airflow?

That is an enormous heatsink. And yeah, that's some serious hardware there - that computer could kill World of Warcraft.

Just a minor suggestion: Flip the HDD around, so the HDD cables aren't visible. Adds to the overall clean look of the PC.

I don't think it matters so much when it doesn't even have a window.

i had forgotten all about this thread lol. thx for the replies guys

lol well simple compared to my rig lol. My cost for parts was under $1000, i charged them $1200 for the system.

there are vents along the sides of the front panel, that is where it is pulling the air through, not through the drive covers so it is able to move a good amount of air.

"If its worth doing its worth overdoing" lol

I was initialy planning on doing that but there isn't enough room between the back panel and the hd for the power connectors to fit. and as nevermind1534 said there is no window so most people will never know its there.

lol thx for the replies guys, sorry for taking so long to get back to you myself lol.

Wow....

I thought I was a perfectionist... Seriously I'm not busting on you. I'm just glad I'm not the only one with OCD.....

Yeah, turn the HDs around and your good to go. Looks awesome... Plenty of juice for WOW.
