Well i have decided to start a Real pc Mod Man cave 2.0 is gone as far as it can till i get more money coming in i had held of starting a Mod hoping to finish the Mod shed .
I thought if i started Modding before it was finished i might not finish it
Well on to the Mod this is themed after one of my all time favorite Bands Motorhead and the album Ace of Spades .
Before i go into the worklog I want to thank Boddaker ,SgtM,DrumThumper ,blueonblack ,BerticusPryme ,BuzzKillington
For the help thanks Guys and +rep
I also want to thanks everyone for making me feel at home here I have hung around the modding sites for a while all have been great but you guys drive me to start a Mod Ok enough of that softie stuff lol.
And dont let me forget Oneslowz28 thanks for the pictures man it helped the vinyl guy understand what i wanted .
I have a general idea of what i want but could change at any time .
Here is what i started with of couse its Beigh,

http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/pp44/Liquid_Scope/PICT0695-2.jpg
I decided to put a spade window in after Oneslowz28 sent me some spade pictures to go through i went to our local vinyl guy. I had to take those pictures to explain what i wanted he keep thinking i wanted the whole card lol.
I knew that very thin vinyl wouldnt stop me from cutting over the line but it helped a lot with a refrence point to by .
This is what i came home with
http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/pp44/Liquid_Scope/PICT0708.jpg
http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/pp44/Liquid_Scope/PICT0706.jpg

Mmm, Ace of spades wish I'd thought of a Motorhead themed mod  I've seen them a few times and probably why I have tinnitus but being a biker seeing "The Motor" was obligatory! good work with the Dremel + rep.
"It's all about the game and how you play it.
It's all about control and if you can take it.
It's all about your debt and if you can pay it.
It's all about pain and who's gonna make it."
The Game..Motorhead.

blueonblack i havent locked anything in stone yet but Im doing the skins in black i would like powdercoated but not in my budget.
Also for the inside i was thinking of White i know it would be hard to keep dust free but i havent saw many White frames and in leanning toward a couple of red fans with red uv sleeving .
msmrx57
Thanks i would like to do something with the skull logo of theirs sometime but that will take some learning on my part lol.
Beta-brain Iwould really like to see the myself sometime sorry to hear of your tinnitus but what a way to get it .

I didnt even want to post the pictures but the odd the is im not even discouraged.
 I already have a few ideas in my mind of how to fix it or go another way .
I know everyone well most everyone has had an idea go a stray from time to time.
I will fix it some way if nothing happens and hopefully mod better for it now to the horrible horrible pics please dont throw eggs at the screen lol.

You can probably save it it's just a bit out of proportion, not sure how big you want it but maybe if you can cut back a bit more as I've done in the photoshoped picture, and as for making mistakes oh yeah, try buying a 1500mmx1000mm sheet of plexi and then somehow measuring the piece you want to cut out of it wrong and ending up with the required piece too small and not enough plexi left to make another so had to order another sheet!

I was a little bummed about the bezel spade today but after everyones help
I am going to do my best to fix it .
I was talking to blueonblack and aintnothang about this modding supply place i found on amazon called http://www.moddersmart.com/ well i ordered a
black uv sleeving kit only they dont make uv black the told me it was a mixup
the one i ordered was by cables unlimited the one i got was ok gear and wasnt uv .
When i called i thought i would get the runaround the guy was very honest about it i wanted uv red bu all i have seen look pink .
He offered to let me send it back and get what ever colored i wanted but admitted that there was pinkish looking as well told me they had a new type coming in but wasnt ready for sale yet .
Since i was in a hurry i was going to keep the black .
Well he refunded my shipping which i thought was cool .
Then i get an email from another customer service agent that wanted to make sure i was happy they sent out the new uv red they have no charge
and told me to keep the black i havent had that kind of customer support ever just wanted to give them the nod for doing that .
http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/pp44/Liquid_Scope/PICT0717-2.jpg
looks about double a normal sleeving kit .
My friend called today said he had some metal he was going to throw away and thought i might could do something with it on my mods
http://i396.photobucket.com/albums/pp44/Liquid_Scope/PICT0715-1.jpg
I got 2 sheets of it sweet:banana:
Ok i couldnt resist taking the chrome sheet outside one thing i found out i will have to have it cut my dremel is no match for that stuff lol but i dont know where a metal music case would be without chrome this is some scrap sheet metal i had laying around.
I thought it would look sweet imagine the sheetmetal as the chrome with that spade in the bottom what do you guys think ?

It will look good, but stainless is a bugger to cut.
workmans gloves if you don't have them already.
Waynio
07-06-2009, 02:58 PM
And safety glasses do not forget those, I've nearly had my eyes out before from broken dremel discs shooting at me  I thought yes I definately need safety glasses before I carry on lol.
Good luck with this, your onto a good start. subscribed:up:.

madd0ct0r yeah i have the gloves its not anythicker than a regular case panel but my Dremel was screaming for mercy my Grinder would cut it .
Im not going to get a design with it my grindr laobored quiet a bit tring to cut i guess i will have to call the local machine shops one day while im off if nothing happens .
Thanks for repling
Waynio Hey thanks .
What made me start wearing saftey glasses was i work in a cabniet door shop
not long after i started i graduated to being able to cut stuff lol.
Well i was using the sliding saw and it would kick back little chunks ocassionally they would bounce off your chest sting a little i was like 19
.
Working with 27 + guys i was nt going to say a word about that hurt lol .
well i went to the bathroom a couple mins later the right eye had a crack right in the center where the wood pinged of them that was scary .

Love the chrome! And yes stainless can be a mother to cut, especially with any accuracy. I've cut it before, but never had to be precise with it. I'd say if you have a machine shop that can cut it for you and won't rape you on it, use them for sure.
And let's see some pics of that sleeving under UV!

I had my doubts, but those really do look red, excellent! Hard to find red UV stuff that doesn't look pink (or red CCFLs for that matter). Those will look very good in there. +rep
Edit: Can't rep you yet, gotta spread it around. :D

I think the sleeving looks very good, nice work. Only thing I might have done differently would be to replace the Molex plugs with either red or black, but that's just me. Regardless, I think it will look especially good under the lights you've got.
Liquid_Scope_99
09-16-2009, 01:17 AM
yeah i thought about that myself since the funds are low and were espically low at the time .
I have found some plastic paint i am going to paint them i already did a couple of test ones that look a lot better than i thought it would .
I wish i would have gotten darker sleeving but that had enough of what i needed and it was cheaper .
billygoat333
09-16-2009, 02:33 AM
huh never woulda thought to paint the molex plugs, good idea :P
cable sleeving looks great! glad to see you are still modding! :)

Some of this new paint for plastic is really pretty good. Way more durable than what was available just a couple of years ago.

@billygoat333 i was watching my wife doing her craft stuff the other day and she had this paint that she said this stuffs sticks to anything i said ahhh ha .lol
DonT-FeaR yeah i painted a scrap on its looks a lot better .
msmrx57 yeah man its great and all the new hammerred paints and stuff i was looking at the fusion paints but they didnt have the shade i wanted my wife suggested using the closeset shade as a primer then painting over it with what i wanted i think im going to look into that as well
