I need to have some very thin balsawood cut.
I've found a few places that specialize in cuts but their "custom cuts" are actually pre-measured and do not fit my needs.

Hmm, laser cutting Balsa wood? I used to build tons of balsa airplanes back in the day and my trusty x-acto knife worked extremely well.
My first thought "Isn't this like cutting butter with a laser?"

The site I linked to will laser balsa. All you have to do is design your stuff and upload the files. They charge by the cut time. I know lots of people who have used them to cut reprap parts from plexi.

Do you have to send them the materials or anything? Pretty neat site so far though I'm kinda leery on paying per minute without a quote.

You can design in several different programs. they have their own materials. You design what you want, send them the file, and they will give you an estimate. They do no cutting without your approval. The reprap guys and lots of people on thingverse.com have been using them with great success.
