Today we celebrate the birthday of a true genius; a man who brought us Alternating Current and Radio, just to name a few. I for one have always greatly admired him, and he was one of the inspirations for me to originally get into hacking (see Jargon File, Hacker, definitions 1,5,6 & 7, for clarification (http://www.catb.org/~esr/jargon/html/H/hacker.html)), and I think a lot of the stuff done and discussed in these forums draw from a spirit of curiosity, ingenuity, and refusal to accept the world as it is, of which he is a great example.
So, on this day celebrate the birth of a genius. A strange, slightly crazy genius, but still, a great contributor to the scientific advances of the 18th and 19th centuries.
