Anyone remember that really trippy effect that was used in clubs and music videos in the 60's and 70's. The one where it was multi-colored oils or other liquids on water that didn't mix, but instead stayed seperated giving a nice bubble effect, something almost resembling a 2-D lava lamp, but with more than one color of lava. I've been looking for a program that might simulate that. The closest thing I can find is a program called "Smoke," but thats not really the effect I'm looking for. Funny thing is, it doesn't even look all that much like smoke. Anyways, I've tried to google everything I can think of, mostly I get oil spills in water and oil paintings of water. I would make the program myself, but I'm not much of a software guy. Any help finding a program would be much appriciated.

EDIT: It looks kinda like this.

I believe it is called a oil wheel projector. You can get them from a small "personal" version (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/lights/600c/) at ThinkGeek, to Pro DJ versions. As for software the only thing I have seen that would be close is The Psychedelic Screen Saver (http://www.synthesoft.com/psych/psych.htm), but I dont know if thats what you are looking for.

EDIT: I found a cheaper version of the personal version HERE (http://www.coolstuffcheap.com/liqligproj.html).
