When is enough enough? I have been getting 15-20 letters in the mail each week which are obviously web originated snail mail spam. The letters feature several horrible misspellings of my name. Spellings like: Marles Quantt, Charles Gnat, Jeff tants, and my personal favorite Varkles Hantts.
I just toss them in the trash. Most are sweepstakes, or insurance offers.

Spam is definitely annoying. It won't ever stop. They get like one hit per every 200 million emails or something like that, so they have to constantly send it out.
Ever since I switched to gmail though I haven't been getting much spam. I've had the account for a good couple years now. I think the trick is, have two accounts. One for trusted stuff only, the other for everything else. or if you like, one for business, the other for play.

That wouldn't help for regular junk mail that is delivered by USPS, though.

I'm sure there is a way to stop postal junk mail.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=9ce&q=How+to+stop+junk+mail&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g10
I'd imagine you could find out how somewhere in there. This is a google sponsored link, but it costs apparently...

Also, they'll sometimes have websites you can go to, where you can unsubscribe from. I'd bet if you looked closely they probably have an unsubscribe address in there somewhere.

I constantly get **** from my cable internet provider, trying to get me to sign up for cable tv. I also get junk from some auto warranty place saying that my warranty is about to expire. All that **** goes in the trash.
My aunt receives that auto warranty crap as well (as does everyone I imagine). It's a scam, and she had a bit of fun with it. She asked them to tell her what make, model, and year her truck is. They couldn't answer!

If they send those postage paid return envelopes, just glue it to a brick and mail it, it'll cost the spammers more money that way
As a side note, we get the phone spammers with the "This is the final notice that your car's warranty is about to expire..." cold call, auto dialer, prerecorded message crap. Still haven't found a way to make them go a way, yet...

I have a sign on my door. It reads
No:
Menus
Junk Mail
Sales/Utilities
Religion/Church
Or Any Other Crap
(If you aren't sure that means you then please walk on by and have a great day)
Seems to work. Don't get anything without my name on it :)

My pastors dad sends them back with bible tracks in them when he gets that stuff in the mail.

Do not Call list. I was getting stuff like that on my home phone and cell phone so I signed up both numbers. If they call you and you notify them you are on the list they get 3 strike then fined by the government for bothering you.
