Project: Great Pumpkin

Looking at a lot of cases noticed one major issues with all of them. They are build with a lot of extra space in them. Now because they are build to accommodate everyone I can see why but I knew what parts were going into my PC so the extra space was just that, extra. So I set out to build my case with only the space "needed". Final dimensions are 15w x 15d x 9h. This will house a 5 120mm fans, full size mobo, fully size PSU, dual 220 rads, 8800gts X2 in SLI and water cooling for cpu, gpu x2, nb and sb.

Project "Great Pumpkin" is a Halloween themed case (15w x 15d x 9h). Originally I wanted to build the case out of just sheet aluminum but after laying it out I knew it would be too hard to get at everything so I went with L shaped aluminum strips for an inner skeleton with a sheet aluminum skin. The case is nearly 100% custom. The only thing I am using is an old HDD holder and the back side of a tray.

Dry fit. I was a little worried about the PSU being so close to the CPU block but I believe it should be fine. When I mapped everything out I had a lot more room but as you build plans change quickly.

I started paint tonight. I was expecting to to start the grills but didn't really feel it so I painted. I also cut the plexiglass front. The overlapping edges will be painted black with the airbrursh as well as around the front fan.

Picked up a nice dual action air brush for $9.99.

Starting to put it together. Sadly I don't think I will get the grills done by the time I need to leave for QuakeCon but I'm not giving up just yet.

An impressive aluminum enclosure for sure, clean and simple. +Rep
Would like to use the pneumatic sheers for some sheet cutting mayhem.
How did you come up with the name? Is that what your grandma said about it?
Just Kidding.

No doubt the air sheer is a lot of fun. It makes short work of sheet metal and sheet alum.

Ahh the name. Well I think once everything is done the name will be pretty apparent. The good news is this time next week I leave for QuakeCon and need he PC done by then so you wont have to wait long to see it.
