They somehow lowered the manufacturing costs to lower the price points. Sounds like pretty good stuff to me, considering this used to be a few hundred bucks more.

The wonders of lithographic scaling. Too bad the good times are about to end in that realm as we're to the point that oxides are only a handful of atoms thick, among other problems which are all physics related.
