So if an average SSD drive is Up to 230MB/sec read and Up to 160MB/sec write, what would my hard drive be? It's a 5400RPM Enhanced IDE WD Scorpio Laptop Hard Drive. Also, how would it compare to a normal 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s drive?

60-80MB/s Read and about 20MB/s lower than the read figure for write.

Keep in mind those are probably peak speeds on the SSD.

Then again, you have to factor in the near-zero latency when compared to a hard drive, which has a physically moving actuator and platter, both with physical latencies. SSDs hit near-peak speeds all the time.
