Toolchest of the Modgods!

Have you ever had an idea for an AMAZING modder's toolchest? One with anything you can think of, all at your fingertips? Ever feel like sharing that idea? Possibly with hastily scribbled drawings (coffee ringed in my case) and a reason for why you'd want it that way?

If you have had an idea like that (I know I have!) then have we got a contest for you! This one's simple folks, we ask that you submit your ideas for an ultimate modder's toolbox-motorized, mechanized, modded, whatever. You can use any program you want to depict said ultimate toolkit. Make it as over the top as you want-this is your fantasy, remember? Now, while you're having fun creating, remember that we're gonna need a good explanation of what we're looking at-we aren't in your head, so we need details! Get as detailed as you want, cause we'll need it to figure out your vision.

Now why are you telling us about your ultimate modder's toolbox? Well, you're doing it all for a chance at an NZXT Performance Power 800w PSU! Yeah, this is easy-no lifting, cutting, or trips to the hospital-just tell us what's running around in your head. Just a good idea is all it takes-a good idea and a good explanation. Maybe you'll teach us all something...

To recap: Create the custom modding toolchest of your dreams and include all of the tools it may require.
Then submit it in an organized fashion in this thread. Check Coles Specials (https://www.catalogueau.com/coles/) and Big W Catalogue (https://www.catalogueau.com/big-w/). Don't forget to add tool cabinet doors or drawers,
case fans, toolchest lights, displays, or motorized portions along with anything else you can think of that may be convenient, cool or amazing. You are welcome to use any programs you may need to create several graphic depictions of the "Toolchest of the ModGods". You should also include a caption or explanation of the content that features the creative or decorative style you have included in your design.

You are welcome to use items from the 3D Warehouse (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/) or anywhere else.
If you want you can just draw them in. Remember to provide a list of the contents.

Contest begins on July 27th, and Ends on September 27th.

I wish I had time to sketch this up. I'm thinking of some automated fishing lure like stair step retractor on top, mini fridge in the bottom, testers all over the place. But alas, no time.

Remember guys, you only have to design the ultimate tool chest. You can use any program out there to design it. From MS paint all the way to 3DS Max and everything in the middle. For those of you who do not have computer design skills you can draw it on a piece of paper and just post a scan or picture of it. Remember to explain why you did what and what things do.

SXRguyinMA
07-29-2009, 10:17 PM
is it limited to a single box? or can it be a box and table, etc, I guess more of an "area" than just a box?

Eclecticos
07-31-2009, 10:10 AM
However you want to go about it is fine. Any shape or form.
You are not limited by any means. Let your imagination run wild.

It is a shame that Sketchup is not available for Linux.

Edited: Had an idea posted here, but I will move this to an official entry.

It is a shame that Sketchup is not available for Linux.

Sketchup will run under WINE with some tweaking. I've had it working. Results & method depend on your distro ... works with Nvidia cards better than ATI.
