I'll be gone for the next 8 days. I'm taking the family on a cruise to Mexico. We leave out of New Orleans and will have two stops in Mexico before coming back on next friday. Internet on the ship is $10 for 15 minutes, so I won't be doing any of that. I will post tons of pictures of Mayan ruins when I get back.

Hey, I'm now in McComb, Mississippi at the Holiday Inn Express enjoying their free internet. I'll probably still have internet access tomorrow in New Orleans, but not the day after.
So far it's been pretty boring. We've gone about 600 miles so far and been through Missouri, Arkansas, Tennesse, and most of Mississippi. If you've never seen Mississippi before I can assure you that you've missed nothing. It's literally 300+ miles of this:

lol, reminds me of driving through Nebraska to get to Wyoming. 400+ miles of corn fields. Have a good trip. I'd do the cruise thing but my wife gets motion sickness easy on boats and she's not sure if a cruise ship would be big enough not to feel the waves.

For those, I think you can still feel the rolling waves a bit. Definitely not a good time to find out!

We're now in New Orleans. Most of the city that we've seen is the old French Quarter stuff. Everywhere we went smelled like, grease, or piss, or river funk from the Mississippi. It totally reminds me of Tijuana, Mexico. There was a market where you could buy stuff and haggle the price down, again like Mexico.

The heat was killer, but there were plenty of street side stops for soda and ice cream.
Bourbon street was exactly what I expected. Just like on TV during Mardi Gras where people are partying and flashing themselves. Like an idiot I took my kids up the street with far too many posters of half clad women touching themselves. And a LOT of Gentleman's clubs.
