So...was it trial and error or did they work the math out to figure the distance between the end of the slide and the pool? I'm guessing trial and error, since there is a 6 minute version where someone misses.

Ah. Here it is. Sigh... freaking WMG. I just don't get them. Meh, whatever. They're loss. Literally. ^_^

These videos remind me of when I was a kid, always doing "stupid" stuff like this. I look at kids now and they're not even allowed to go too fast on the merry-go-round. lol

...no seriously. That's a true story. I was at a park watching these kids have loads of fun trying to spin as fast as possible, so they got a few kids on and a few kids stayed off and kept the momentum up and one of the mothers ran over there screaming and totally flipped out yelling how stupid and dangerous what they were doing was. ...granted, it was only after one of the kids flew off, but he got up and was totally fine. Just a couple scratches because the ground was littered with wood chips. ...another thing I'll never understand. Whats a good thing to have on the ground aside from dirt? Wood chips! Great idea! Never mind that tree's are both valuable and painful when shredded, but that we have so many tires we don't even know what to do with them all! Shred them up. Like wood. Voila. Soft, bouncy ground that you can't get hurt on. /sigh.

One minor problem with your train of thought--tires are steel belted. Slice and dice these bad boys up and use them as you are suggesting is just begging for a lawsuit.

It is a rather good idea though.

Ah bummer! I thought I was really onto something here. oh well. Whats a steel belt? or rather where is it located? I thought tires were just... you know.. rubber? Shows how much I know. lol

Maybe there could be a process of eliminating the metal? Like shred the tires, then use either magnetics or water to filter out the metal bits. Maybe both? The rubber would probably just float across the water and the metal would hopefully sink or be pulled down by magnetics. While you're at it, use an agitator to make sure no unwanted bits are having a free ride on top of some of the rubber. Hmmm.

Do all tires have steel belts? Are they located in the treads at all? Maybe we could cannibalize the "safe" pieces of the tires...

You could melt the rubber down and that should leave the metal intact. Since rubber's melting point is way lower the steel.

Take the melted rubber and grind it up. :)

But back to the video... That looks freakin' awesome!

Except, you know, mine is actually real. But that was still pretty damn awesome looking. lol

Looks like it was made as some sort of microsoft viral marketing type deal.

I think its done with a bit of "photoshop", which is why it kind of looks funny and certainly debatable right before he hits the pool, and a mixture of a tricky camera angle. Its definitely an good illusion at work here. I bet the slide was still pretty crazy though.

nice video, looks like fun.

They already make playground mulch out of recycled tires. The rock cllimbing gym I used to go to had it, which was alot better than the other one I went to before that that used pea gravel( ouchies).

Information here>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_mulch

Which is a lot better than woodchips.

fun stuff! lol. that rubberized bark stuff they put in playgrounds is really nice, but the wind here in eastern Idaho can be pretty bad and will pick it up and blow it around.
