I'm suddenly rubberbanding on games and it took me a few attempts for speedtest.net to even work. It kept erroring in the ping test.
I get a ping in the 40's if I use the LA server but if I use San Diego (I'm in SD) I get almost double the ping?
EDIT: I just ran it again annnnd...

What time of day did you run your tests? Internet activity peaks between 5 pm and 9 pm on a nightly basis, when everyone is home checking emails and surfing the pr0n.

they were all taken around 7pm. The last one was at 4:35am.

There are a lot of different factors in play--network congestion, size of the pipes going to the different servers, the afore mentioned time of day. Example, I'm in Great Falls MT, and I get horrible pings to the second closest server to me (Bozeman MT, which is roughly 150 or so miles away)

And here's the result for Helena (90 or so miles away)

And just for giggles and grins, here's LA:

I'd love to have a 9ms ping. The only downer you have is your upload is 512K. The best ping I can usually get is 18ms to a server less than 30 miles away
This is what I'm getting tonight, ping is a bit high, and the down link speed is slow. I may need to restart my WRT600N again (seems to not like staying powered up for months at a time without a restart). If that doesn't fix it then the local node probably needs a splitting (supposedly one is scheduled for sometime in September if not absolutely needed beforehand).

Edit: Yep it was my router, tonight I reset it and I'm back to full speed, ping still a little high.

I hate you guys... the max down speed I can get here in Toronto is 5 Mb/s (from the only ISP which doesn't have a ridiculously low bandwidth cap). *sign* I don't think the infrastructure here is ever going to be updated :(.
