The wife and I took the kids on a cruise to Mexico.

We drove from Illinois though Missouri to Arkansas

New Orleans was what I expected. BIG city, lots of history, and a total ghetto. The place stinked everywhere

The French Market was like a flea market

We stayed at the Drury. It was cheap and elegant

We traveled on the Carnival Fantasy

On the ship we got a basic four person room without a window.

The bathroom was adequate

The top of the ship had a two different water slides

Every night your steward (gets your room ready) makes a towel animal. I think this is a snake.

The whole 2nd day we were at sea

That night we got an elephant

The third day was in Progresso, Mexico. It was HOT. Hotter than I ever understood what hot really is.

We took a double decker bus through the city for $2 per person. We sat on top and I was literally inches from the hanging power lines

An internet cafe for $1 hour

We got on a tour bus and went to Dzibilchaltun (I can't pronounce it either) to see the Mayan ruins

At the ruins they had a natural pond called a Cenote that many dived into.

That night we had a bunny

The next day we went to Cozumel, Mexico. This place is paradise.

I bought a white chocolate dessert for me and black forest for the wife for $2 each

We had a blast. We're already planning another cruise, this time next year
