so lets face it.... ive brought forth my xbox on here many times... but never truly finished..
alot of ppl have seen the mods i have done... slimmin it... slimmin it again... and again.. thats over now..
time to start with a fresh case, but not an xbox case..
recently my woman's DVD player kicked the bucket... (we accidently left it playing harry potter repeatedly for about 5 months... constantly.. it auto restarted everytime at the end of the movie) motor burnt out...
opportunity arises.. and who am i to not mod it? heh..
its some lame arse store brand POS...
but its case is like the perfect dimensions..
so now i give you... (hopefully the last time this xbox gets modded)

^^ goin to be using all original ports ^^
and i have already soldered on the original DVD player power chord..
and the motherboard is currently mounted with standard PC stand offs... only 4 right now.. but i plan for more when i fix my floor level issues.. it has a sunk part in the metal..

i just converted the front original power switchin into a momentary... :) keepin this with mostly original things... im even gunna try to use the buttons for media usage..

its alive... it boots..... just needa make a HDD for it and drop it in.... also have to make HDD mounts...

As I said... It auto-repeated..... We just couldn't be bothered with stoppin it... :) meh... It afforded me a new case to mess around with... So I'm not complainin.... Right now I'm tryin to trim the cpu heatsink a bit more for a bigger fan.... But I'm goin thro dremel cuttin discs like its goin outa style... I wanna try and find a machine shop... Problem is I work till 9pm heh... Tho once I get that done it will all be goin full steam ahead...

so the woman brought up a point today... askin why i didnt just try to fix the DVD player.... and i conveniently
pointed out it would be difficult to find the right motor... of the right speed... at the right voltage... with the right size of spindle.....

Taking you time into consideration it would probably be cheaper to replace it anyway.

i decided that 2 small fans wouldnt work aswell as 1 bigger one... so im gettin rid of the PS2 slim fan... and movin the small 40mm to the rear for exaust...

USB ports r coming along... but the color of wires with the piece im using is confuzzlin...
like a rainbow..
so this is the point where i wish i had a multi-meter
.... altho some spare wire... LED and resistor.... i think i can do it..

so the first soldering job.. wasnt stable enough to hand 720p... this i have to fix.. so i removed the AV plug.. and im soldering directly to it... came into some damage... a lil blue thingy got knocked off... but i found a matching one on my spare xbox mobo

so the mobo kept fraggin after all that work... so i just swapped in a new motherboard... a 1.3 this time... its up and running with component out.. but i cant seem to get it to switch to 480p from 480i... nor to 720p... i dont think the signal is strong enough.. i may need to shorten my wiring...
