Doesn't seem like that did that much. Sanded the case, made the PSU external, took out the card reader.

Eh, I think it's ugly, but at least it's cheaper!

Lol.. sony has the worst record for these things too. The new PSP was leaked 8 months before release, and the web has been lit up with "rumors" of the slim PS3 for at least 2 months. :D

Just checked Gamestop, the 80GB fatty dropped to $300 already.

What I don't get is why Sony tells you a newer, smaller, and lighter console is coming out on xx/xx/xx. They should've dropped the price and milked out the extra sales due to the price drop for the rest of the month. Then came out of nowhere and released the slim.

"Hmmm, should I get a 80GB fat-ass now or wait 2 weeks and get a slim with a 120GB hard drive..."


Microsoft is planning a price drop at the end of the moth but you don't see them telling people. They also plan to drop the Pro model, which is dumb. They also are removing all HD compatable cables from the Elite model, so now you have to buy your own. To top it off they plan to RAISE the price of the arcade in the UK....

As for Nintendo.... well.... it's Nintendo. They make money.

My 80gb has PS2 support, I think the 40gb doesn't.

The older ones had it, but they removed the PS2 CPU from the later consoles to reduce the cost.

The slim will kill off Linux support.

the old 60gb one is the one to have, with the emotion engine chip in it and SACD support. yummy. lol shoulda bought one when i worked at a cd store and we had used 60gb consoles. woulda been worth it.
